Help save Thief 3

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Help save Thief 3

Seeing as this is a PC gamers' forum, I reckon most of the self-respecting gamers will at least know of, if not love the "Thief" series of games. Unfortunately the company making the new Thief 3 game, Looking Glass, has been sold to Ion Storm, the same people who took Deus Ex (another wonderful RPG cum sneak-em up cum FPS type game) and dumbed it down for the X-box market. Although Deus Ex: Invisble War is still a fairly good game, chief elements of the original were removed to make it easier to understand and simpler to control with only a few buttons for the console market. A lot of the depth that made Deus Ex such an incredible game has been removed. Ion Storm has now indicated their intent to make Thief 3 available on the X-box. If the progression of Deus Ex is anything to go by, this could be a disaster for all PC gamers who want a more cerebral sneaky type of game. If anything else, the Xbox gamers have MGS2 for their stealth gaming and will probably ignore Thief 3, unaware of how great the last 2 games were. Please sign this petition and try to help save Thief 3 from being another X-box game cheaply ported to the PC

I do agree but petitions are as useless as tits on a bull. When I see one actually make a difference I might consider signing one.

nice thought Rec and youre right but yknow no games publisher really gives a monkeys about quality, its all about shifting units. Games are seen as being a kids market, kids play on consoles, games get ported to consoles and vice-versa, been happening for years and honestly dont waste your time and effort you just aint gonna fight the march of capitalism.

I think one of the main reasons for DX:IW (PC) not living up to expectations is that it was rushed out for X-Mas. There is no other explanation for the Non-US releases beeing 4 months later.
"Translation taking that much time" is IMHO utter bull****. I'm pretty sure they didn't do the voice recordings for it 2 weeks before the release, but 2-4 months before the release, at that time having all the scripts written, so that translation could have begun back then.

Taw's right I'm afraid...its all about money. I'll sign your petition for you, but to be honest I doubt it will make a difference. The Xbox is big money, as is the playstation 2, PC gaming just can't compete....I'd say that the only reason games are still being made for the PC is because it IS a far superior games platform. Good luck with the petition though...maybe one day, one of these son-of-a-b*tch companies may actually listen.

Shame too, the Thief series was fantastic.

Crap, i agree it probably wont make a difference but this fcking sucks..... i loved Thief 1 and 2 i think i passed it on that hardest difficulty so many times its embarassing....... But Thief 3 really cant be dumbed down anymore, you collect loot, choose weapons, sneak about, theres not much you can really dumb down but i could be wrong. Deus Ex 2 I disagree though i still love the game, yes some features are gone but i can live with it...... DE2 rules in my opinion.
