40k?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

40k?

Does anyone play Warhammer 40k?
If so what kinda army(s)?

I play a standard Space Marine army. Lots of Assault Marines. I like to get down and dirty. I wanna try space-orks, but given the expensive nature of this hobby I doubt I will ever switch.....

*pouts*

it is sad. but you know what else is sad. Posting on a videogame forum. I think it's safe to say that anyone who does this is firmly lodged in geekdom. pointing fingers isn't going to help anyone.

Well I wouldn't say firmly, what the hell is warhammer 40k anyway? I see the term bandied around from time to time. Sounds like a poxy RTS to me.

@Mustang - its a load of small action figures that you pay ridiculous amounts of money for, and then have to hand paint them yourself! Life's not fair! My old school mate used to tell me how he wanted to design a video game for it God how sad

Playing 40k is sad? Fair enough . What about playing Dungeons & Dragons? An erm, friend of mine (yes, that'll do) played that about eight years ago. He enjoyed it, but could not find anyone to play with after that. Does that count?

I don't just play "video" games. I either play flight sims, or space games, and only then because I am interested in astronomy. Better than monstars

And I post here because I like the people, not the game.

AND some games are rated MA 15 plus, so little kids can't play em.

it's a tabletop war game......I enjoy painting the figures.......it's pretty much the only reason I play! it is pretty expensive....but hey I spend about 80 bucks a week on beer so who cares!!!

It's cool for me to look at my army all painted and pretty lookin and think "damn I did that" and it looks great.......

in a lot of ways D&D is WAAAAAAY more pathetic than warhammer. D&D is just a talked up version of playing house or tea-party .....40k involves strategy.

if ya don't like it.......don't post dammit ....I just wanted to know if anyone else here played it....sheesh

like takin care of my sister's kids......

Playing 40k is not sad. I bet some of the thing you lot do would
be considered 'sad' buy others.

I play 40k and I have a fairly decent sized marine army, but my personal
favorite is the guard. Besides I like the story behind it.

Im a big fan of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, and I really enjoyed
Execution Hour. I've also read the Last Chancers book but i
didn't think they were that great. and i read the Maelstrom book.

When I was a wee nipper I was into Dark Angels, but alas, grew out of it. More recently though I played fire warrior on the PS2. That was good.
