White noise

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@ff
The beeps could be police transmissions, my HiFi messes up from time to time and resets the radio station down to 87.50 FM, the police radios must work at a slightly lower frequency because the static noises get interrupted by a beep and get quieter and if you listen real close you can hear the stuff they're saying.

@FF, if your problem is insomnia then you should really be looking to deal with the root causes, stress and worry. I suffer from insomnia as well, and have done for years. It causes me almost as much anxiety as the problems that kick it off in the first place. Now the trick is to break the cycle of worry and bothersomeness that prevents you from sleeping, and sedatives and relaxation techniques are a perfectly viable way of doing this. otherwise you remain in a stressful state & your brain won't produce the chemicals that put you to sleep. just don't start depending on them because that's a problem in itself. Routine and order help me just as much.

edit: that's all cr*p. I tried all those and only Night Nurse, Bushmills and sex work anymore.

@FF,

*shakes head* Then hire some hot girl to stand over your bed and get her to make the fan work.

For once in your life Duffman, stand up for the little guy!

@RILMS:

1. if I need someone to fix my fan, it's not gonna be a hot girl. Everyone knows that a fan repair person could be a hobbit, ET, or a turtle, but not a hot girl.

2. if I had access to a hot girl, I wouldn't bother trying to sleep.

the only real way to -permanently- cure insomnia is as Tawakalna says. get to the bottom of it. drugs and meditation aint gonna work. ever wonder why kids cant get to sleep on christmas eve? same reason. FF, you are either expecting something to happen (that probably won't), or, you have disturbed your natural sleep pattern. that happens to me all the time.

so basicly, cut the stress (from work, school, gf, etc.) and you shal sleep soundly.

hope it helps.

You could always try hot milk. The heat reacts with the lactose and creats a slight sedative. Still, I imagine that you have tried such a simple remedy already. Mmmm, have you tried aromatherapy? It's good stuff, and may be what you are looking for. It's very effective in combination with meditation.

Sometimes you need to nap. I know it sounds silly but.... assuming that you already are working on causes of the effect, you can get yourself so tired you cannot sleep at all. Napping during the day, minimum 20 minutes, maximum 30 to 40 minutes, can help reset the sleep switch, so to speak. Do it in the early afternoon or late morning at the same time each day.

100 press-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squat thrusts, then go and run 5 miles, then repeat all the floor exercises. if you survive, I guarantee you'll sleep like a baby!

and here i come expecting some kinda new astronomical terminology..
i remember doing this project on adverts at school.. my group-mate got hold of some of your 'white music'... rain.. i think he went on kazaa.. we also ended up with yoga instructions as well...

try searching for specific stuff like rain... or peace or something similar.. i don't think the search engine's will recognise 'white music'...

as for sleeping well, tire yourself out during the day... really tire yourself out. drive alot, get stuck in traffic jams, swear so much that your throat hurts. i think you'll do well at night.

FF - I am too. Go Soy milk! It's the good stuff! Well, apart from the cheap varieties... *shudder*.

Kimk - We could always start a new thread about pulsars, quasars, dark matter, planetary orbits, singularities, and white holes! Could be fun...
