XP and 98 work a bit different. But, other than that, I can't help you.

You need to save the file (pix) within MSPaint or similar, and remember where it's saved. Then browse to it within properties of the desktop (right-click empty space on desktop). Then it will show I believe as "Interent Explorer wallpaper."

Either that or save within MSPaint or similar and click the word file and choose "set as background Tiled/Centered ...you choice.

Stinger, it's a html file. I can't open it in Paint....

And this is starting to freak me out: now there's absolutely no wallpaper showing, not only the html one. Even regular pics won't do. Everytime I click that Apply button on the desktop properties window, I can see the wallpaper flicker once or twice, before reverting back to black....

I have ACDSee 3.1 and StyleXP. I normally use ACDSee to set my wallpaper, and it's not working this time. Tried the same with StyleXP, no results.

Ok a long shot here. Have you concidered going into the desktop porperties screen?

UPDATE: ok problem solved. My StyleXP apparently conflicted with the active desktop. Reverting back to classic xp theme solved the problem. Thx for everyone!
