I hate the internet

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I hate the internet

Yes, you heard me right, i HATE the internet, I hate the internet, i must repeat myself, i hate the internet. What a load ...... I just bought a new hard drive and thought I could start everything all over...... with a clean hard drive and all..... 5 days later im looking for cheats on the net and i think i got another virus..... yep, popups whenever i go to sites, and in My Favorites menu, most sites have this icon right (like lancersreactor, has the pilots helmet) so basically those are gone. I get popups whichever site i go to, i mean this has me balancing on my last strand of insanity, im going crazy, I swear I am seriously considering selling my computer and getting rid of all this (yes i am THAT serious). SO, If theres an easy way to fix this, let me know, but like i said, im sick of this, even the stupidest things are loaded with viruses, i mean theres not a single damn thing i can search for on the net without getting screwed over somehow, not music, nothing. And I now see why some people hate PCs, im becoming a console only gamer soon..... im sick of this........i hate the internet.

PS: Can anyone recommend one those pieces of crap thats for internet only with no hard drive? the internet-only pcs or whatever

Get a virus scanner and some firewall software, pretty basic protection that will keep most of the nasties away from your beast. The worst I've had in the past 18 months is a data miner.

-And download Google taskbar for IE6. It's got an awesome popup blocker.
-Use at least two antivirus software, one installed and one online (Housecall is good) and scan often! when you're in the shower or having dinner...
-download Adaware for free

Except for a good antivirus and firewall, it doesn't take you anything to safeguard your pc. It takes only a couple of minutes.

Yes, google toolbar popup blocker works every time. Google toolbar also has other cool thingys. Adaware wont get rid of EVERYTHING, your best bet is to not download from dodgy sites.

How do i get rid of this though, theres tons of popup ads coming up when i go to my homepage....... I mean sure popup blockers work but..... truth be told i would rather much more find the source of the problem and eliminate it rather than just use a workaround. I by the way have Adaware and i use it all the time (once a week or so)

What is your homepage? if those popups originate from the homepage itself, I suggest you reset it to something else.

Pop-up Killer Pro v4.5
Ads-Gone
Guard IE (for IE users)

there's lots of pop-up killers but I use the top one and the second one combined, with Tweak XP ad repression and Norton Firewall ad killer.

No, you see heres the thing, i play Dark Age Of Camelot, and the game homepage has popups, but that never happened before, and for that matter still doesnt. I got the google toolbar or whatever, and whenever i restart my computer, either 1st or second time i use IE it pops up commercials for ****ty sites that nobody vists.
