Obligatory Star Trek Thread

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@Cloak Discussuion #1: yeah, it was 'on loan' from the Romulans on the Previso that they only use it in the Gamma Quadrant and that the Federation hand over all their intel on the Dominion. Funny then that the first time we see the Defiant, Sisco is BREAKING the rules by cloaking outside DS9. In fact didn't they do that ALOT? For a while the Defiant had to have a Romulan officer aboard their vessel to supervise its use. then Sisco got pissed and threw her (was it?) off. I dont really remember a great deal about her, was she in the Tal Shiar? Speaking of which, how FREAKING cool was the Tal Shiar, more importantly how freaking cool was Section 31. That was one of my fave plotlines in the whole damned history of Star Trek.

@Cloak Discussion #2: The Federation decided on their own that they didnt want cloaking devices. The Federation thought of it as dishonorable (so why do the Kingons still have them?) and that no federation ship would want to go 'sneaking around'. The Federation use conflict as a last resort so dont equipt their ships for war. and other than a warlike situation there was no need for a cloaking devide. The Defiant was the Federations first ever Battleship, created for use against the Borg. Interestingly enough, the Borg only appeared in DS9 for about 5 minutes (a point to Taw if anyone knows where )

@Chase Masterson Discussion: They ARE real. If anyone has the little known but kick-ass game "SpyCraft" you'll see. Plus, anyone else got a thing for Bajoran women? Kira Nerys was a bit of a whiney cow but if i had enough Romulan Ale...mebbie?

cloak discussion 1. the Romulan officer was "killed" by the Jem'Hadar in a mentally projected simulation of Dominion origin. where she went after that i don't know, but continuity was never a Trek strongpoint, was it?

cloak discussion 2. the only actual appearance by the Borg in DS9 was at the beginning of the first episode, the battle of Wolf 359, although they've been mentioned many times.

where's my point then!

You and more likely Taw can have her. Not that she's a cow but the whiney part, yeeesh.

Guess I'll have to find me that there game. All the celeb pix files available clearly do not imply much in the way of a real front porch except for one shot which looks doctored up.

I have the Klingon Dictionary - I purchased it for a laugh. I also have the TNG and DS9 Technical Manuals. Very interesting reading. In fact, according to the DS9 manual, the front portion of the Defiant (the bit containing the main deflector I think) can be detached and used as a huge matter/anti-matter warhead. I WISH I could have seen them use that in an episode...

The above post is true, and by true I mean "false". It's comprised of lies, but they are entertaining lies and in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is "no".

I have a questoin for you guys. It's not in the Enclyopedea, so what do you guys think N.C.C means.

I think it means, "Naval Constructoin Contract"

it means whatever the current US ships NCC means. It was just added because Gene wanted the ships to sound more propper.
