My New Mouse

I'm planning on purchasing a new mouse this weekend, problem is; I don't know what to get Does anyone know of a good mouse that doesn't cost more than 50-60 euro? Thanks.

No, don't get a wireless. There will come a time where you have to change the battery and don't have a replacement ready. Or forgot to recharge it. A wired optical is sufficient, and cheaper.

Thanks, I'm considering Logitech Mouseman, read a good rewiew of those a while back. And I have a friend who is a die hard fan of MS Intellimouse(SP?).
But both of these are getting old, hence my asking you guys.
No cordless, eh? Got it.

HOLD IT!!!

I picked up an optical keyboard and mouse for £22 (yes for both) not long back, and it works fantastic! I don't know who made it though, no brand name on the KB or mouse

Go cordless and you'll never stop thanking yourself. I put my keyboard in my lap to type and since my desk is cluttered (rocket building ) I just put it on my bed when I need a break! It's a dream!

I have a Logitech cordless optical mouse and keyboard that I have been more than pleased with. Only complaint is there is no charger for the mouse, so the bateries die ocasionaly, like every few months. Keyboard bats last forever (for all practical purposes) If you get a mouse that sits on a charger when not in use I think you'll be happier even than me

Just go shopping online and in stores to get a good feel for whats out there.

Since I don't sit at a desk when I am on computer, the cordless Logitech optical ball mouse is fantastic. The ball is on top and I move with my thumb as opposed to moving the whole mouse. I really like and it doesn't require a surface to use it.

You mean a trackball. I friggin hate trackballs - just my humble opinion Do you realize how difficult it is to draw with a trackball? I can't sync the holding down a button and manipulating the ball at the same time (NO SEX JOKE, please )

Post Wed Dec 10, 2003 4:45 pm

@FF, do you have a trackball in the middle of the mouse or on the thumb side? Because, I'll admit the trackball is a little "looser" (no pun intended at you FF ) and is more difficult to draw with because of that, but I am easily able to synch it with any click I need to as my thumb is the one that does the moving, leaving the rest of my fingers to hit the right buttons (pun intended in that one FF )

at work and at home I have a Logitech Trackball (thumb ball). I draw on CADD for a living and i love my trackball, makes life so much easier... no if they would just invest in a wireless keyboard so I could keep that in my lap, I would be even more comfortable.

@Topher: You mean AutoCAD? I'm a drawer too (<-- Open door).
I tried a trackball too, but I never got used to it. I use my simple mouse and it works nicely for me

I haven't heard much about wireless keyboards but I know that wireless mouses (mice?) are a pain. Also, only get an optical mouse if your computer space is clean (don't eat or drink at it).
