WARNING: Thanks to gromit I have discovered a new result of my boundlessly bad spelling. You will notice that I spelled "cylons" with an s every time. Please excuse me (I didn't want to do through and change them all )
----------------
Ok, so here's the gist of things. Man creates silons, and goes to war with them, typical story. A few years after the original BG series peace breaks out between humans ans silons. Ok. 40 years pass and you have the new series!
So, it doesn't matter that starbuck and boomer are female, they are different people! Adama is in command of Galactica, but it is the Apolo from the original, except old. All works quite nicely imo. The old vipers are museam pieces and humanity is going back to massive integrated computer systems. There are 12 big colonies, and a fleet of about 120 battlestars. Life is good.
-------
The plot begins... Silons havent let out a peep these last 40 years. Now they are back! Remember that hot chick from the previews? She has a mission: to get in good with this high tech defence dude and get codes to the human mainframe (or somthing like that). She gets the silons all out tactical info and they come in and kick out butts. Bye bye 30 battlestars and 3 colonies in the first attack. The second generation viper is networked (ghasp!) so the new silon fighters simply paralize them EMP style and it takes one measaly missile each to kill them!
Adama is now the surviving ranking fleet official and thus is head of all colonial fleets. He has ordered a FTL jump (double ghasp!) of all colonial ships to some depot place for a counterattack defence thing. That's it till next time.
-------
The grafix/effects are stellar (pardon the pun thing). The Galactica is MASSIVE and boy is it cool. The drama can be a little slow, but the space stuff makes up for it big time. Charictors do not disapoint. All in all, I am quite pleased
Looking foreward to your thoughts...
