LOL, i remember doing my theory exam for my L (learners). I failed the first time I did the test because I was studying the old manual when they switched over to the new one. I found that on the test I took, they set up some really hard scenarios which takes some time to think through before making a final decision on the answer.
When I did my driving test to get my N (Novice), I only had to do the test once and I did it under harsh conditions. The weather gods just didnt cooperate and it rained heavily. My side windows fogged up so i had to fake my shoulder checks.

AND IT WORKED!! My examiner thought i did well. All my errors were just due to nervousness. For example, driving too slow or too fast
Im still on my N. I dont feel any rush to do the second full license exam. Its basically the same as the N test except you drive on the highways.
Good luck on your test, mate.
EDIT: Oh yah, i just thought id mention that im a pretty nasty driver. Like driving on the wrong lanes (theres a reason behind that) and killing wild animals

No tickets yet though!
