HELP TAW computer problems
my cupholder fell off....

Anyway, one of my friends (best friend actually) has stuffed his computer for the 100th time (I suspect because he downloads things like Bonzi Buddy and Gator - eek) first of all I'm more of a...software person than a hardware person.....Well, He turns the computer on one day and gets that usuall black screen with writing on it n' stuff, and then then went to the desktop but he couldn't click on anything, the egg timer never went away.
He restarted, and it went to the black screen with things on it again, except it counted something REAL slowly all the way up to 512. Anyway, this time it just went to a black screen with nothing except a white line at the top, the sort that flashes to show where your typing.
One of his dikhed fully sik friends at school told him to take the battery out of somewhere for a while and then turn it back on, and he did that but got a blue screen with no writing that could mean anything to a sane man. Then one of his friends gave him a "boot disk", but nothing worked either.
Anyway, thanks for the help, (I'm trying to get in this friends good books after I lost his BF1942 cd)
PS. I may not have explained it all properly but that was what I got from listening to him explain it and looking at the computer amidst much swearing for 5 minutes.
