Why do you go up in rank for posting in Off-Topic?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Any ideas? Maybe a Moderator could answer this one!

You're rank is just your post count. OT is part of the fourms, so part of your post count.

rank means nothing its purely as already said an indicator of number of posts
across all the boards and not worth getting excited about (wonder when ill make colonel )

did you really need to ask this?

Post Mon Dec 01, 2003 6:17 pm

@cardamine, I'm surprised you've managed to do 200+ posts and not realised this yet, there is a rank list somewhere but you'll have to search for it. I think someone asked in the off topic forum about a month ago if thats any help. Ranks are there purely to show how many times you've posted, its got nothing to do with how helpful you are...I hope you didn't think that you made Lt.Commander by being helpful!?! There are a lot of people who only post in off topic nowadays...

@steel, you're almost there....drop and give me 50

EDIT: @Cardamine - nice banner by the way

If the posts here didn't count I would be like a flight captain or somthing

No, rank doesn't matter... to us. When new people come in and see a recruit or first lutenant they know they are talking to other newcomers. If they see a post by a Major or somthing higher up they know it's a forum regular. I remember when I first got here I was always impressed/pleased to see high ranks responding to me

@EDIT: Fun fact. Grom joined 4 days before me! lol

Your post count/rank doesn't mean anything.
Take freighter feighter as an example: 2000+ posts, but that doesn't say much in his case...

And also in this case, detective Wizard solved the case of "spamming sensitve" threads. Will he ever get rid of them? Stay tuned for the next episode of "Detective Wizard and the mysteries of the *click*!

Of all the guys who spend time here these days, I was the first in months (perhaps weeks) to reach the rank of Port Commodore, but nobody listens to me.
So, no, ranks don't mean crap out here. It's all a matter of who survives in the end...or am I confused now?

@Wiz/Nickless - True, but I still think their a good way of showing that say "Joebob12345" is fairly new while (input Port Commodore name here) is not

Post Mon Dec 01, 2003 8:22 pm

Post Mon Dec 01, 2003 8:50 pm
