Bah, I could only crank out 653Kbps out of that test site. You guys must have some unreal providers (or mine just sucks) to be getting those speeds.

hell, i'm only on a 56k, i just tweaked it to the max. it just goes to show what a dedicated geek and his modem (and weapons grade plutonium) can do.

How do you tweak a 56kbps modem to download at more than quintuple its rated speed?

How is that even physically possible?

The owners materials on those modems even warn you that it just the rated speed and that actual speed may vary (which is sales speach for "will be less than rated"

basically, i grafted human nerves instead of circits onto the boards...i also super cooled some thingimy-doodar and then overaccelerated the whatjimmycallit. Its really quite simple

I have run the same test as EB and here are the results...

Unfortunately the test is not always accurate though. I did the test several times and the outcome had great differences each time.
