Telemarketers find un-wanted calls annoying

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Telemarketers find un-wanted calls annoying

Dave Barry, comic extrordinare (Sp?) wrote a column in my aunts paper. Aparently, since the telemarketing companies are fighting court battles over the "do not call" list. So, he published the number of The American Teleservices Association. Since they feel they have the constitutional right to call you, it works the other way too right?

It turned out that thousands of people called the ATA. To such an extent that the number was disconnected... really. Heres what the directer of ATA had to say...

"The ATA recieved no warning about the article" "the barry column caused harmfull consequences for the ATA"

Thats right! They were indignant that they recieved NO WARNING they were going to be called! One hopes they were not interupted during diner! Not only that, but these calls were an INCONVINENCE and a WASTE OF TIME!

Thier main argument is: the do not call list will put many hardworking americans out of jobs (bad for the economy) The same directer dude said in the LA times that the impact of the list would be like (quote) "like an asteroid hitting the earth" yes, an asteroid!

Barry's article I read went on to say that they have another number at 317-816-9336, but he shouldn't reveal that as the ATA shurely doesn't want people to call again as it would be bothersome and quite unwelcome!

LOL I love it when the tables are turned against the a@#ho$#s.

Did you ever see that Seinfeld episode when Jerry asks the guy for his home number so he could call him back later because he was kind of busy at the moment?

Hey, that 317 number means they're in Indiana somehwere. You think Dave could get his Mom to pull a prank on them for Late Night?

All I have to say is thank God for Caller ID! God for creating man, then man for creating AT&T and AT&T for creating Caller ID. (Or whoever created it.)

Thanks Flamecurse! I wanted the whole thing here, but didn't want to type it as it is a bit lengthy.

Did you see the Jay Leno where he was doing a monologue and a cell phone rang in the audiance? He walked over and answered the lady's phone and said "Hi this is Jay Leno. I'm in the middle of my monologue right now, so is there a message I could take?"
