What were your previous usernames (nicks)?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@taw

the pun was "nicks" vis a vis "underpants," nicks being a british colloquialism for knickers.

Stop being so British. I am a more Brit savvy American than most, I know many more colloquialisms than the majority of my fellow countrymen, but that completely eluded me.

Sir S:

Since when was "smegging" all that American?

Post Mon Oct 27, 2003 8:08 pm

Let me rephrase for complete understanding. Though I am American, I am quite savvy with British coloquialisms because I spend much time watching British television as I DETEST American tele.

American shows are bleeding awful!! The writers of tele comedies get their bollocks off writing that dodgy snot, but it only shows what total smegheads they are!!!

@Taw:

Regardless.....???irregardless...??? disirregardless....??? of Sir S:

Please enlighten us here, if not obscene. They seem/read/sound to be very funny!

Always wanted to ask this question and it seems like you may be receptive to it.
Q: With all the differences in England, when these dialects are used in TV programming dialogues, does the rest of the Country understand what's said? I mean, do Staffordshiremen understand Geordie? etc.? There are certain parts of the US where the accents are so thick, they are unintelligible to most strangers.

Re-Edited: Having discovered this is Staffordshire English.

The food angle? Remember, I was in Rotisserie Leagues, not just a Fantasy League (sniff).

Sir Spectre, are you a Red Dwarf fan? (Your use of 'smeghead') I'm not.

Post Tue Oct 28, 2003 2:02 am

@SD The Clanner, yes I am a Red Dwarf fan. But smeghead was an edit as 'wan' + 'k' and a 'er' didn't show up, due to asterisks. Smeghead wasn't my first choice and I know it isn't really a good example of British talk as it is only derivitive of only one show. But I chose to have a visible insult as opposed to a hidden one.

I'm actually surprised by the words that are asterisked on this site. Even the word 'j' + 'erk' is asterisked as proven here: ****. Yet ass and damn are not.

@sir s. - Well lets see i was sleepy one night, i just happened to download AIM too, i didnt like my aol e-mail...terranmaster007 (you can spam that one, i dont use it) and i was thinking about therapists for some reason...and i was thinking about who helps them when they're ticked.....hence the name Theropissed...it's actually pretty damn unique. I'm expecting Puff Daddy to rip it off soon. (w00t owned him)

Heretic

Heretic, if you had spelled it therapissed with the 'a' instead of the 'o' I actually might have realized it's meaning. But regardless, that is a very clever username. I really like it.
