Your favourite OST

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Mine would have to be... the O'sullivans March from Rob Roy.
Or The Imperial March from Star Wars, Or the Terminator theme From the Terminator Movies
(It has a nice Doomsday Ring bout it)

I've met the person that sung the theme from Enterprise. His name's Russel Watson and he's a friend of my best friends nan who used to do something for him before he was famous

"Make it so Number One"
Captain Picard 'Star Trek the Next Generation'

Requiem for a Dream, LOTR:TT, Matrix Reloaded (the actual film score as opposed to the random songs on the OST CD from the end credits), Star Wars and Jurassic Park are my faves.
Film scores have to be the greatest for truly emotive music, even without lyrics.

EDIT: How could I forget? The theme tune to the A-team has to be at number 1

"the beach" had a good soundtrack, as did "human traffic". as for scorewise, the star wars films as a whole really do it for me. i can listen to those for hours. I like Metal Gear Solid's tunes, "the best is yet to come" off that album sends me south of the border.

My favorite is.... My Heart Will Go On.

I'M KIDDING I'M KIDDING!!! DON'T STONE ME! WHO WILL STOP THE SPAMMERS?

Enterprise' Faith of the Heart is pretty damn good, maybe only coz it's fresh and unlike the other orchestral-themed ST OSTs (not that the others are bad, they're frickin fantastic!) and there are of course Star Wars' Imperial March - intimidating and grand. Mission Impossible's Theme Song (by arrangements good), Moby's arrangement of the James Bond ost, then Inspector Gadget's and Henry Mancini's Pink Panther theme. And last but not least - John Powell with all scores from the recent Born Identity.

why the hell do people think the enterprise theme is good. it SUCKS. i nearly turned off broken bow when i first heard that theme. i literally started to pour kerrosene (sp?) over my startrek parephenalia in my room it was that bad

I like most of the music that Hans Zimmer composes ! (Armageddon, The Rock, Crimson Tide, The Gladiator etc.)

James Horner is pretty good too ! (Titanic, Apollo 13, The Perfect Storm, The Green Mile etc.)

I agree with Archie on the Metal Gear Solid music, which is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (co-producer of the music from Armageddon and The Rock)

Howard Shore, composer of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy soundtrack
Danny Elfman, composer of the Spider-Man movie soundtrack, Batman 1 & 2 I believe and Sleepy Hollow.

Equilibrium has some good music too ! (composer is Klaus Badelt)

And I trully like the part from Excalibur (the King Arthur movie from the 80's) where they play O Fortuna from Carl Orff.

Ah, there is so much more I like.....

I agree with Eraser about Hans Zimmer. (Note to self, must stop agreeing with Eraser so often, )

Others, I like are the "Patriot Games" OST with those wispy Irish lilts and sorrowful music by James Horner. Unfortunately, James Horner repeats too closely some of his themes in other films.

In the same Jack Ryan series, "The Hunt for Red October" by Basil Paledoris. The Russian chants and heavy Russian classical themes is superb.

John Williams was better in the 80's and early 90's, with "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones" & "Jurassic Park," now his works all sound the same.

The Chemical Brothers did a great job with "Fight Club." It's one of the few times a movie has used modern music beats effectively where it didn't overburden the film.

I really enjoy Rachel Portman's work on "Chocolat." It is charming and full of lyrical melody.

However, my favorite soundtrack is "Le Fabuleux Destinie d'Amelie Poulain," or "Amelie" for us Americans. Yann Tiersen has made some of the greatest French ethnic music ever. And his piano solos are at the height of perfection not seen since Mozart or Beethoven. I now have all of his albums, the piano pieces are light, delicate and clever. I am soooo sick of modern pianists hitting the keyboard as if the harder you hit it is suppose to make you a classical piano player. I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! And most of the rest of his works too!!!

Harry Gregson Williams did the soundtrack to MGS2 and for the most part it was a bit ****. Orchestral Theme and all the tanker music was the biznatch, everything else blew chunks. I prefered MGS1's soundtrack.

The DUST brothers did the fight club soundtrack, NOT the chemical brothers.

and what the hell is wrong with owning Star Trek parephenalia?
