"A TopGun through and through"

dunno m8. Walkers are Smiths/XL/Burtons, my grandad used to work for Burtons so I got free Wagon Wheels a lot, haven't seen a canny bag o tudor for years although i did get some about 6 yrs ago from a shop near Hexham on the A69. it wouldn't surprise me if they're now part of Walkers, but they may still have some production under their own brand.

did that kid EVER get to the top of that block of flats?

remember Cresta pop? "it's frothy, man..!"

"A TopGun through and through"

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 3:01 pm

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 3:09 pm

clear coke never saw it
i do remember the hedge hog flavour crisps though
and the one burning question taw are wagon wheels as big as they used to be
i do remember diet decaff cherry coke though............ ugh (pepsi wouldnt have made something as disgusting as that) would they?

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 3:16 pm

no they are not as big as they used to be, but my hands were smaller then as well.

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 3:51 pm

yeah and curlywurlys have definitely shrunk...I may have been small, but they were the size of houses

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 4:05 pm

ah yes, Tudor here are the facts; Tudor were taken over by Golden Wonder who were taken over in their turn by Walkers. In effect there is now only one crisp manufacturer in the UK, Walkers, although there is some production under the Tudor brand (or was until recently)

also Walkers make most supermarket own brand crisps and most pub crisps even though they may be marketed as some fancy old-fashioned brand. 'tis all Walkers.

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 10:45 pm

so why do they advertise the brand so heavily with a near monopoly?
and yes curlywurly bars ARE tiny now

Post Thu Oct 02, 2003 10:59 pm

it constitutes the biggest market share and is highest in public perception therefore they feel the need to maintain that brand pre-eminence despite their ownership of nearly every other brand. like Kellogg's make almost every cereal including other brands and own labels for supermarkets, but hammer their own brand most with ads.

Kellogg's say they don't make cereals for anyone else but that's because they are everyone else!

Death to the Pepsi zealots!

With that said, I really don't care either way. You just don't often get a chance to say "Death to _____ zealots" all that often.

Sprite owns both, 'nuff said

"Twice and Twice shall he be marked,
twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path.
Twice the heron, to name him
true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost.
Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay."
