Brain teaser

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Now, that must be s**t!

Okay, here's a real one:
There lives a dwarf on the 9th storey. Every day when he comes home, he takes the elevator to the 5th storey and then takes the stairs. Why?

Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

Duh, he's not tall enough to hit the 9th floor button on the elevator.

There's actually a continuation to this: he departs and gets home in that same pattern everyday, unless when it rains (he uses his umbrella to push the otherwise unreachable button)

Sorry to dig it up, but I just found the answer to my brain teaser about those two professors.
So, hint one:
if we multiply their ages, we get 36. We have 8 options: 1-1-36, 1-2-18, 1-3-12, 1-4-9, 1-6-6, 2-2-9, 2-3-6, 3-4-3
Hint two: the sum of their ages equals to the number of windows in the house in front of the two profs. We don't know the number of windows, but THEY do. So, we add up all 8 cases: 38, 21, 16, 14, 13, 13, 11, 10. All are different except the two ones with 13. It must be the number of the windows, since otherwise the third hint would be irrelevant.

Hint three: the name of the eldest son is Robert (or whatever, does not matter).
In those two cases with 13, one is 1-6-6, the other is 2-2-9. The first one doesn't fit, 'cause there are TWO elder sons, so the only logical option is 2-2-9.
Cool, ain't it? To tell the truth, I wasn't able to solve it, I had to ask for advice.
