Anyone else...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Anyone else...

...crazy about Aircraft? I am, and have been since birth. My room is full of posters and models, as any serious fanatics room should be.

I'm soon starting a bachelor of engineering in aerospace avionics and then hopefully getting an apprenticeship as an aviation ectronics maintenance engineer.

Who shares my passion for flight?

i would have to say im guilty though i havent flown one for about 10 years

I have a passing interest in aircraft, but I couldn't say im half as passionate as you. My cousin (he's a US citizen, long story) is a real nutter for aircraft, he used to work for lockheed martin but now he's doing rockets for some company I can't remember. It's all fairly hush hush in his line of work, so we are not allowed to know exactly what he does. One of those 'I could tell you but i'd have to kill you' type jobs.

Got quite an interest, I fly model aircraft, and catch Fairford and at least one other airshow every year. Avionics sounds like an interesting if laborious subject to pursue, best of luck.

Of course, I am. My dad was an Air Force officer. I was born on an Air Force base. My dad flies for Fed Ex. I grown up around planes all my life. When I was six, I could name all my toy airplanes, the weapons they carried, and their basic roles in the military.

I've logged over twenty hours in Cessna 152. Unfortunately, my plans to become a pilot were dashed by the economic downturn after 9/11. I was set to fly that Saturday. All the planes were grounded for weeks. My instructor left all of a sudden and moved back to Arkansas to live with her family. I saw the writing on the wall. That's why I'm here at UT studying aerospace engineering.

I love Planes, my favourite is the Spitfire

they're exciting. tho i'm not quarter as passionate. my room's bare. despite how much i like astronomy. but i've got enough picture material to plaster every milimetre of my room. (i.e. stored on comp) i wouldn't mind getting round to flying planes... but i'd rather have a speedy one like an F/A-18 hornet or summat small fighter.

if i can't go into astrophysics, i have ideas about going into aeronautics and starting my own super-high-tech aeronautics engineering facility churning out ground to space spacecraft that can get out of earth gravity pull in less than a minute flat. but of course, thats daydream so far.

oh, i feel sorry for galileo....

Ever since I was a little kid I've gone through different crazes....firstly Pirates, then guns, tanks, submarines, when I was 14 it was pyrotechnics (I still have a bit of that now) and then aircraft up until now.

I too am interested in astronomy, but as an amature. I have a 6 inch newtonian telescope which cost a pretty penny.

i tried to get into the Fleet Air Arm but they wouldn't have me, so I went into Signals instead. Still got to fly around in helicopters though!

@ Eagle

four words: 100 hour line maintenance! Aaah!

you guys are all soooooo lucky. i haven't got anything that i can exploit my interests on. ultra mainly cuz of the tight budget and parent type.

taw fleet air arm ? i was going for that myself years ago gave up though when i worked out the odds of flying fixed wing were so low
they were only after rotary wing pilots really
