Computer Systems

I was wondering, what kind of powerhouse computer systems the vets and others are running? I build computers as a hobby. Do you build or buy your system? Myself,

Homebuilt
Soyo- KT400 Dragon ultra MB
AMD XP 2 gig
1 gig 333mhz ddr ram
PNY G-Force FX 5200 ultra vid card
Two 40 gig WD harddrives
Aluminum see through case w/ blue interior light sticks.

To bad I have to live on a buget! I could have some real fun!!!

and to think i thought you were my cousin bro. he also builds comps. i've got a korean safer brand thing. not too interesting unfortunately. 1.7ghz 40gb HDD, 256MB ram, GeForce 2 MX400 64mb video ram, LCD monitor.... what else do you want?

Post Sun Sep 21, 2003 5:58 am

I prefer to build my own, I don't trust computer stores, they always seem to penny pinch on a component here or there.

I've been upgrading over the past few months so these specs will probably stay the same for the next 12 - 24 months. So without further ado, here is my e-penis.

Intel D865PE Mobo
P4 2.6 800FSB w/ hyperthreading
512Mb Corsair PC3200 RAM
128Mb GeForce FX 5900 (Leadtek)
Soundblaster Live!
Cambridge Soundworks speakers (4 Satellites & Subwoofer)
Antec 380W Powersupply
80Gb Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive
Pioneer DVD ROM
Acer CD-RW
Brushed Aliminium Case (2 Intake + 2 Exhaust Fans)
Sony 17" LCD Screen

@Gromit, what is the difference between XP Home and XP Professional? I'm trying to decide which I want on for my next system. So far I never upgraded from Win98 2nd Edition.
