Daikatana wasn't a 2003 game was it? but i agree it was awful.
There were so many dire games this year it's hard to choose. pretty much all of the film tie-ins were cr*p, I got my boy Wolverine's Revenge and Enter the Matrix, no saving graces for either apart from the FMV in EtM. My kids also love Tomb Raider but I refused to get them the latest one as one of my M8s had it, played it for 2 hrs and put it on eBay straight after.
I can't say any game I got for myself this year was rubbish, although I wasn't too happy with the Thing due it's clunky control interface and the 3rd person viewpoint, but it was fun and moody and continued the story quite well. But 80% of my playing time has been FL since it was released so I suppose I've missed a lot!
@LL read your stuff about Mr. Smart with interest and pretty much agree with you, although i think his social skills are more akin to Attila the Hun rather than Hitler!
