ArconTV: The College Years
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.
no, i actuallly went to the gym yesterday to try and loose my beer gut and (finally) get some goddamn upper body strength. I'm now sore as hell because of it but i think it was all good for me i'm like 81kg now or something, i plan to be fitter by christmas and go two times a week for about an hour at a time. whats a good goal to set myself?

Archie, go running, cycling or swimming. Get some aerobic exercise in to lose the gut, weights are just gonna improve muscle bulk but the gut will stay.
Join one of your uni sports groups, maybe? That would probably help keep you from getting disillusioned and giving up (I'm not trying to say anything against you, it's just the gym can get pretty boring all by yourself).

looking into going swimming actually, i like swimming and theres good potential for arsing about when your bored of being fit. Ive been going with my flatmate Dan anyway (see a few pages back) so were kinda keeping each other going.
Been doing treadmills and cycling machines as well at the gym, as well as weights though, so yeah, swimming is probably what i'm missing. I'm not into sports though, the competative nature of it and the pressure to succeed pisses me off more than anything else.

I'm totally the opposite! I used to go swimming 2 or 3 times a week, I had a friend I would train with on Saturday mornings and even our warm ups would be a competition! We'd extend our training sessions just to see who could pull that little bit extra concentration and energy and win over a further distance.
Anyway, if you want a good way of keeping fit while horsing around, my brother and I would have a kinda aquatic wrestling game, where the object was to get your opponent to touch the bottom or sides. It's incredibly hard cos its like swimming resistance training, but its always a good laugh as long as you dont drown each other!

last time i went swimming it was in the irish sea, the day was absolutely gorgeous so we all went for a swim and then it started to get cold. SO cold in fact and i was so unfit, that i pulled a muscle in my leg and when i tried to get out of the sea i couldnt stand on it, so i had to stay out, treading water for a good half an hour in biting cold water....and then it started to rain.
