ArconTV: The College Years

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I dunno Arcon..blue background, white star...all you're missing is the read.

And a Snooker table looks quite like a pool table.

Ok, so it's done on the same table, but a diffrent game. Ok, I'm getting ya. Kinda like badmantan and tenis are done on the same court just the birdy/ball are diffrent.

they are? I thought badmitten had a higher net and smaller court?

Ever heard the expression "we've been snookered!"? No clue what it means...

Post Wed Oct 22, 2003 9:01 pm

yeah, it comes from snooker, its a cheeky move where you place the cue ball where theres no clear path to a legal colour. chances are that unless the guy is a good player, they wont be able to avoid a foul. which is good

one of the objectives of snooker is to get your opponent into an unplayable possition where he cannot clearly hit a valid ball and he wil probably have to commit a foul shot. This state of play is called a "snooker." if you are losing and do not have enough balls on the table to even the score, then you require "snookers" to force your opponent to give points away and free up the game.

on ful size snooker tables this is very difficult to do, snooker is a very skilled and technical game and can take hours.

looks like ArconTV is transmitting Embassy World Snooker Championships from the Octagon, Bolton

I tjink you'd better have a programming schedule so we can all tune in for our favourite bits.

..you think you're done with the past, but the past isn't done with you..

What a collection of gobblety goop. Arcon, I can only speak for myself, but seeing you signature cartoon posted every single time you response to this spamfest it gets just a little more irritating. We're 2 RCH's from stopping the madness.

This thread didn't have a purpose in the beginning, and it still doesn't.

ArconTV forever!

Excuse me for speaking out of tone to an admin but you really can kiss my ass.

Realy bad career move Arcon. Really bad. I gather your definition of a comeback to someone tapping you on the shoulder to bring something to you attention in a somewhat polite manner that YOU do not appreciate it to cut their heads off, and deficate down their neck.

Be careful with your next comeback Arcon, you're not above any laws anymore than I am. What gives you the right to rip into me for speaking out is beyond anyone's comprehension. I'd like to know who died and granted you the right to be exactly what you want someone else to kiss.

BTW, you must be too young to know what a RCH is. 1080 posts and you think you own the place or something. 64 times you've posted in this thread and each time...there's that signature. You even posted twice in a row once. Ever hear of an EDIT button??

Even I don't rip peoples heads off THAT severely Arcon. Any TLR regular (such as yourself) know's just how far out of line your comback was.

yeah, i'd like to appoligise for that mate, i was a bit annoyed by something else, i might be screwed out of about 2500 quid by my ass of a boss and things are going bad to worse at work.

i know you were just giving me a heads up. and i'll do my best to wrangle this thread in, but i do believe that this thread does have at least a tiny bit of value on these boards.

i dont think i'm above the law, i know i act all like i'm "holier than thou" on many occasions but i do try and respect the staff on the forums, theyre suprisingly just and fair and its a rareity to find these days.

For information, i didnt know of any unwritten rule limit to how many times a sig should be posted, i'll bear it in mind though, looking back through the thread i can see how it would get annoying. And as for the double post, i have heard of the edit button, and it would be an honest mistake if and when i ever double post.

soz again, me

No real harm. I've got a pretty thick skin being a moderator. Occassionally, I do show why I have that nickname to keep all the the planets aligned around here.

Still, I'll bet you do not know what an RCH is. Here's a hint, spelling out the words would be WAAAY out of line here. Carry on, just keep things on topic, that's all.

If it looks like people are posting like they would in a chat window, that's when it can be conceved as being a waste of bandwidth or flooding/spamming. Self-discipline works most of the time.

Arcon TV forever!

Amen! I'm not quite shure why, but many of us really enjoy this thread. As is quite obvious it is very popular and long lived. I hope this continues to be so...

<EDIT> also searches for meaning of RCH...
