micro$oft allegance

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

yeah, its a massively online space shooing game. WAY ahead of its time, and as such, didnt really make a big enough impact to survive, however theres a goof fan community keeping it alive.

Can't say that I was impressed but thats not surprising. Not much from Microsoft impresses me (well except for FL ) Bill Gates needs to get his priorities right. Gamers should come first, not old grannies who have only just learnt how to open Microsoft Word 2002, and are currently wondering where the paper comes out at the top of the monitor!

what gets me is that you think gates works on the shop floor, running around the office shouting "more games, people!!!", while at the same time hand writing the final bit of code for Windows Longhorn before rushing over to the X-Box area and approving first hand the character development of Halo 2.

Gates kinda "retired" from running MS. He just owns them (that's right, both halves of it). The bald guy ("Developers, developers, developers developers." runs the company now.

That´s right. The CEO of Microsoft is Steve Ballmer, Bill is Chief Architect.

BTW, check out this funny vid of Steve

How could you miss the infamous Ballmer monkey dance music video?!

Yeah I know he doesn't officially do anything anymore, but what people say and what you read in the newspapers can never be taken 100% truthfully.

Richard Branson (owner of Virgin) has officially given over control of his empire to his daughter to run. But everyone knows he still does a lot of it himself.

Bill never was the driving force behind the code anyway. He is, on the other hand, an increadible businessman, and reading his book gives you some insight into just how sharp and revolutionary his business ideas are.

He may be flagging a bit on ethical stances, but pick a business on the fortune 500, and I bet you find the same thing everywhere you look. On the other hand, he treated his employees very well, which is unusual in most businesses of that size.

i suppse its because with microsoft, 90% + of the staff members are REALLY smart people. ok youve got the support, admin, clerical type people but for the most part theyre all tech ppl, so you dont have a looser manual labor force you can replace with robots. as such you HAVE to take care of these guys cause you cant get rid of them

its really weird how that video of steve balmer has got around. I was actually present at the conference that this footage is from. I was working for a streaming media company looking after their web department and doing a bit of sound for them at different live events. I'm very good mates with the guy who encoded it - he actually cut it up to send around the company because when we got back from the conference no-one would believe us how crazy Balmer was. A few of the sales guys sent it out externally and they sent it onto their friends and bish bash bosh 3 months later it turns up in my inbox from a friend in Oz!

Weird how stuff like that happens. I suppose it shows the power of the net though.
