Why do you have to pay for so much

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Why do you have to pay for so much

"everything in life is not free" It seems nothing is, and even though I'm living in decent luxury, I have negative money at my disposal. No i don't have a job, had one last year, didn't relaly get me much hey im still in school, 2nd year of high school actually. Its so deceiving too, they're all "DOWNLOAD THIS TODAY!!" and you have to pay to download it. imo you should only pay for something that you can hold in your hand. I broke my computer the other day, and some people wanted me to PAY to get something to fix it.

(luckily i went to the windows help chat room and i got an inspiration...everything's all better now But the thing is, you don't see any MAC bug/problem/help chatrooms, cause MAC's don't have crappy bugs.)

And another thing, SPYWARE SUCKS.

I downloaded Kazaa, and after a few months, I had a few viruses, all caught by Norton thank goodness....but I got adaware, and now that i've got rid of all the spyware, i can't get rid of kazaa or some other stupid programs.

Microsoft products are (overpriced, but) cheaper than the other guy for a reason--they suck

I'm just surprised at how hard people work to make life harder than it really has to be

Yay, another Apple-phreak! I think I like you.

Post Tue Aug 26, 2003 7:26 am

apple mac has to be the worst human-compatible comp out there.. i hate it. but thats just me.

Post Tue Aug 26, 2003 7:53 am

I haven´t actually given Apple a fair chance to be honest, but quite frankly I don´t want to either, because the compatibility with games is really poor ! Very few games can actually be played on Apple computers, but then Apple computers do have some good points also... I really drool when I look at the design of the new Apple machines, especially the new Mac !

Apple do good work but they are just not popular enough for me to consider buying one. Plus thier marketing team tend to leave a bad taste in my mouth when they proclaim the G5 to be the fastest PC ever, see look at our dodgey benchmarks!

They really should know better than to try to pull the wool over the average computer geek eye's, we are to smart and to many for a slick marketing campaign to fool us.

But back on topic, I'd get seriously narky if a company ever tried to get me to pay for a patch. I really hope that Governments bring in some regulations that enforce that developers meet some set criteria or standards before they unleash software onto the public. Most developers are getting a lot better in this aspect but there are also a lot of rouge developers who release some really dodgy products.

I think Apple rocks. Or as my dad always say:

"Microsoft is the root to all evil"

You wouldn't expect people to dig ditches or pick fruit or work an assembly line for free, so why do you expect people to be willing to develop software for free? Or do you expect companies who publish software to just give it to you free and still pay their programmers? Luckily, there are still enough honest people out there who are paying for their software. If you think the price of software is too high, the way to bring it down is to stop pirateing stuff. If everyone paid for the programs they use the publishers could lower their prices and still make a little profit.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

Note, you CAN hold your HD in your hand...

There are no Mac bug chatrooms because no one uses them, lol! (Yes... I know... you and the other guy do... that's "no one" in the metaphorical sense.)

Why would anything be free? When God starts answering the backlog... THEN stuff will be free. You think you're poor now... wait till you get to the real world. You pay for stuff that you don't even know about, whatever you make is never enough, and if you're fortunate enough to have a girlfriend, you'll have absolutely no money... regardless of the rumors, sex is NOT free. You suddenly become uncool... they don't play your music on the radio anymore... you AGAIN start growing hair in wierd places... what used to take a few days to heal now takes a few weeks... and the meaning of life slips further and further away.

Yeah... my friend just got married... naturally, I'm feeling rather morbid... what a crock.

Someone, cheer me up... pronto!

Edit: Oh, I nearly forgot... that great metabolism you had... yeah, that's outta here like a... a... OH, and your ability to form clever similes withdraws to a safe distance.

woah, this is an old thread. But I must admit, I have pirated some things, but now that KaZaA is gone forever out of my sight and mind, I KNOW that if you ::buy:: things its better than ::stealing:: just the quality of it, knowing you got it *legally* and everything else. I guess when I wrote this message I was bitter from not having a job and being able to pay for the things I want(ed) I still don't, but the best thing I can do is to save up some stuff.

If I were a rich person, I would definately support the programmers--they spend well, their lives developing the games that we love to play, fix bugs, code all the programs, make things better, and everything else. Its just that all these subscriptions going around that make you pay to use something just a few times...like pay to play. You pay for the software, then you pay to use that software. I think it's either pay for the software, or download it and pay for the use of it.

But the thing is, the price of games hasn't gone up or down. With all the pirating going on, prices have stayed the same. If everyone goes out and buys stuff instead of pirating, then the software companies are going to jack the price up, to follow suit of Microsoft.

I don't even know if i made sense at all, but 1. I need a job, 2. I buy the products I use (now , well, for a few months now), and 3. prices aren't going to go down. ever.
