Two Towers Ships

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

What I don't get is how there is Ballance in the force if there is no dark side?

but the Jedi DID return? Anyway how many of you guys have actually read LOTR? I am almost done with Return of the King myself.

"Twice and Twice shall he be marked,
twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path.
Twice the heron, to name him
true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost.
Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay."

Not gonna' buy the theatrical... Will rent it, of course, but I'm saving my money for the extended edition coming out in November. I've heard about some of the scenes they are including, and it sounds even better than the FoTR EE. Now, when the ROTK EE comes out... Oh my god. I've already heard rumors that the theatrical of that will be over three hours. Not much, definitely no more than thirty (pretty much the cutoff point without making an intermission technically neccessary, and not just for the bladder(s) ) minutes, something like ten or fifteen. But the EE will be the better part of four hours!

Word is that New Line Cinema is going to re-release FOTR and TTT in theaters and it will be the Extended Editions. Just prior to (about 2 weeks) the worldwide release of ROTK. This is to refresh moviegoers' memories before the final installment arrives.

EDIT: I found some more info on this matter....

New Line Cinema will re-release The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, with additional scenes and footage added, just two weeks before the worldwide December 17 release of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

The plan calls for putting the films on 100-150 screens in the top 10 U.S. markets. Many other U.S. cities will have one cinema participating in the special extended edition screenings. Running times for the extended editions are 208 minutes for "Fellowship of the Ring" and 214 minutes for "The Two Towers."

Advanced ticket sales are scheduled to begin in late September or early October on exhibitor Web sites and movie ticketing sites like Fandango, MovieFone and Movietickets.com.

Starting the week of Dec. 5, the extended DVD cut of "Fellowship of the Ring" will be released in some 100 or so theaters in the U.S. and in 20 theaters in Canada.

Then, the week of Dec. 12, "The Two Towers" will be released, leading up to a worldwide Dec. 16 daylong marathon, during which all three films will be shown back-to-back. The screenings that day will include a 3 p.m. showing of "Fellowship" followed by a 7 p.m. screening of "Two Towers" and then an 11 p.m. screening of "Return of the King," which will carry over into Dec. 17 -- the day of its global release.

Post Tue Aug 26, 2003 10:41 am

ive read the book, twice

Post Tue Aug 26, 2003 1:15 pm

ive read the book too, so i know how it ends, but i dont know how long after the conclusion of the action the film is gonna go, whether theyre gonna do the whole, long drawn out wrapping up of the story

@xeno: the ballance is actually an interesting point, in the new trilogy, the dark side is incredibly small, only 2 sith at any one time. the prophesy is true, but the council failed to see that by anakin brinking balance to the force, it was to bring the dark side up to the same power the light side did, wiping out all but 2 jedi in a direct correlation to the way it was.

always preferred the Silmarillion as far as the books are concerbed, myself.

Double jeopardy Arcon, Anakin also kills the Emperor, so where the balance there, 'cos he leaves behind Luke and Leia who are good side. No Sith to be seen.

..you think you're done with the past; but the past isn't done with you..
