This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Okay, I really hate paying for services that were once free, and perfect. Namely, File Planet and Gamespy. But I was thinking, What the hell, why not subscribe to it and not have the problems.

I also was thinking about subscribing to PC Gamer, a montly magazine that comes out.

Here is a comparison:

PC GAMER- 24 issues (2 years worth) for $40 US.

Gamespy/File planet- 59.99 Annual, or 6.95 a month.

Thanks in advance for your advise!

HE SAID FILE PLANET! BLASPHEMY!

Seriously though, file planet is awful. Dont give them money, use www.filemirrors.com for free, just use file planet to get the file name

well i swear by PC Zone which I contribute to on the sly but I don't know if you can get it easily outside the UK. And I jacked in my subs to Fileplanet when I was playing C&C:Generals because I could never get the files I wanted even though I was paying for them.

..you think you're done with the past; but the past isn't done with you..

I pay for a month when they have something I really really want. The rest of the time I can wait for it to be released to the general population.

yeah, i dont get that pay for free stuff thing, i think its people trying to make money after they found out that the dot.com boom was just a joke every geek used to screw over corporations. but yeah, is anyone else pissed at george lucas for introducing the hyperspace feature at StarWars.com i mean, i get the latest news on my homepage, and 4/5 news posts i cant even read. THANKS GEORGE U ASSHOLE! in fact the only news we DO get off them is the same stuff that other websites get. Its not got to the point where the fan sites (like theforce.net) are giving me the news, and starwars.com is just festering and dying of being so stale.

damn him to hell

So I guess i should go for PC Gamer, Eh?

I used to enjoy the SW website. Now it has a confusing main page and a "premium" service. Woe is this world where a Warhead has to pay for his news.

You get used to a free service and then after 6-12 months thay start charging it stupid amounts of money... I think that it's just plain evil.

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

This is my second year with PCG and I have never regretted it.

"Twice and Twice shall he be marked,
twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path.
Twice the heron, to name him
true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost.
Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay."

bah..

hhhmmm, I agree that PCG is the way to go. Altho I'm not really a magazine buyer, I do like it.

Then again they all seem the same to me they usually offer news on the same subjects.

The problem I have had recently with buying magazines in UK, is the damn price. I used to be able to get things for £1.99 which I was happy with. But then I go and buy PCG or PCZ for a demo game on it, and im smacking out £4.50 which is over double the price.

This country is getting way too expensive....

Thats the thing: Here PCG is $7.99. If I get the 24 issue deal, its like $2.
