The stellar universe is not so difficult of comprehension as the real actions of other people.

Anyone who proposes to do good must not expect people to roll stones out of his way, but must accept his lot calmly if they even roll a few more upon it.

Justice is conscience, not a personal conscience but the conscience of the whole of humanity. Those who clearly recognize the voice of their own conscience usually recognize also the voice of justice.

When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?

I believe in looking reality straight in the eye and denying it.

Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness.
