Have you ever seen the first time a baby learns to walk?..
here you are in the living room, with the older brother and sister and mom and dad. And there you are sitting at a corner like a blob of meat. and then you saw your brother walk, and you think that's cool. and then you saw your sister skips, and you think, well, that's cool too. You look down at your feet and you saw two blob of meat and a big white diaper in between. You wonder if you can walk and skip like your borthers and sisters. So you crawl up to the table, and try to stand up. and guess what...out of a sudden you loose your balance and fall on your back. Luckily there's a pillow behind there, and your oversize diaper soften your fall. You are not hurt.
but frustration settled in and you cried....
but then mom picks you up and said "it's ok, don't worry, lets try again, you can do it. Yes you can do it. Come on, you can do it" and she straigthen you up and show you across the room where dad is waiting. And he is going "come here, come here, you can do it, come on". You tried walking again, and fall again, and you cried, and mom and dad keep encouraging you to do it. You don't understand why it is so hard to walk. You wanted to give up, but there was too much peer pressure. Big sis and bro can walk. Slowly and surely, you took your steps again..
frustation , failure and meesing up is just part of growing up. It doesn't matter who situation you are in now, but what matters is what you do with it...
