question: are the different personalities aware there are other personalities?
it would only be a hostage situation if one of the personalities was knowingly trying to kill the others.

The other day I saw an advert for a schizophrenic's club, I've half a mind to go.

2 in every 1 people are schizophrenic.

I used to be a schizophrenic but we're ok now.

Well if he had multiple personalities.........wouldnt they have a vote on killing himself? I mean its one body so it has to be a democracy.
