Sailing

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Sailing

I'm big on sailing, just wanted to know if anyone else is too, I sail 420s (a small two person boat) in the spring and summer and my family owns a 39' sloop which we sail around.

Peace through superior firepower.

I kayak a little if that's of any interest.
I tried sailing but I could never really get the hang of it. Either the winds were too weak and I didn't know what to do, leaving me drifting, or the winds would be too strong and I'd capsize

I always wish I could sail properly, but all my time on the ocean is spent on fishing boats. I've spent a few hours here and there on catermerans and the like and I once spent a day sailing around the bay on this ship.

The Failie

Of course I was given specific instructions on what to do and they had a LOT of beer on board. So I can't say I learnt a lot but I had a bloody good time, those old riggers certainly have some charm.

Havent been sailing recently, the North Sea is too bloody cold unless u have a dry suit. I have a 16ft dingy and a 14ft laser. Great fun, tho it would be better if the water was sub tropical!

Signature? What Signature?

took a sailing trip on like a (guessing) 20ft sailer, had rool for like 6 peeps.
What was kinda funny was, the staff 'on board' let this blind kid in our camp named paul take control of the rudder, he dint steer that bad actualy.

Sailing...

As much as I can. Last month, two weeks down the Croatian Coast in a 40 ft Sloop.
Next month, same boat (The "Geriatrix" - no joke), if the wind holds out, all the way to Split. (www.geriatrix.de, thats the homepage of the owners)

heh sounds hardcore to me, I like racing small boats better than long trips in big boats

Post Fri Jul 18, 2003 11:47 pm

most of the sailing that I do is in a 5,43m long Lelievlet

it's completely made of steel (havent got a pic) these boats are mostly a trademark of the (dutch) water scout movement

it has got a 16m2 big sail a 5 metres long centre mast; made out of wood.
and has a fok (don't know the english word)

lol a fok no idea what that would be but you can try describing what it is
