anything better than starlancer?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Can you recommend any joystick games better than starlancer?

x2 seems to be the newest thing coming out but it might not be my cup of tea judging from what I read about it.

What are your favourite joystick games?

You can never go way with any of the Wing Commander (WC) games. I would recommend WC III

since I started on freelancer: none

No not that I'm "addicted" to FL but I can't think of a game that's played with a joystick.

but If you want something I would suggest taking Microsofts' Combat Flight Simulator 3. it rocks

I have a joystick but I don't have anything to make use of it. I bought it many years ago after I got Starlancer. I looking for an alternative now. Here's another question how did any of you first get into starlancer. I first heard about it by watching a trailer in a video I rented out from blockbusters. It looked just like a film in the video advert. I thought yeah this game looks like it has a real sense of style.

I also got enemy engaged commanche Vs hokum, it is a complicated sim with a manual the size of a phone book.-which is why I don't play it-If I start thinking about getting some sort of flying licence in real life then it will come in useful but now i am just thinking entertainment, fun, fun, fun.

What I have in mind is fun and excitement which i got from starlancer.(when using a joystick)

Wing commander-I shall check it out, I am hoping the graphics are as good or better than starlancer. Which is why I am looking out for any recent shoot em ups.

Freelancer thanks for the recommendation, but seeing as i never use my joystick I decided to post this topic to see if I could find a game to make use of it.

aeroplanes sims I have to think about that.

Don't count on WC having better graphics than SL. The last WC game came out in like 1998, well before SL. So they aren't as great visually as they once were, but they're still classics.

I got hooked on SL after I saw the video on a demo CD in one of the PC game magazines.
Speaking of other games with a joystick - I dunno. Once I played European War (that was long ago) - fun, 'cause you can play for Luftwaffe, but it's old, graphics are bad, and controls - complicated (actually, I find all real craft sims complicated, therefore I prefer space sims). If I were you, I'd go for Wing Commander - a cool game, pity I don't have all of it.

I don't have a drinking problem. I drink. I get drunk. I fall down. No problem.

I agree with Arcon, go for XvT, XWA or regular old Tie Fighter, if you have a decent card the graphics aren't half bad!

personally i highly recommend Freespace 2, followed by X-Wing v. Tie Fighter, then any WC, if you can get hold of Kilrathi Saga there's no DOS setup, ummm Freespace 1 maybe.

..you think you're done with the past; but the past isn't done with you..

I meant Daddy in the sense that Chris and Erin Roberts made WC and Starlancer
