This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The biggest mistake we made was letting america go

Post Thu Jul 03, 2003 11:03 pm

taha. Not all Americans are British you fools . They're British-American But seriously, though, some Americans are not of British origin. Like my children, for example, (when i have some..). Sure, they'll be American, but they won't be of British decent.

yes arcon nicely said... but you are a few years of-date

the declaration of independance was signed by the american dignitaries that day
(4th of july 1776) the declaration was recognized no earlier then late 1783 (the moment the brits bugged out) because the commanding lord general was defeated and surrendered

Some Americans have Dutch ancestors instead of English. In America there are a lot of Dutch names like Van Pelt, Van der Bilt, Mark Gosselaar (he played Zack in Saved by the Bell and had Dutch ancestors) etc.

The Dutch came to the state (now known as New York) and formed a colony called New Netherlands. A city was founded, namely New Amsterdam. After 40 years the British seized the entire county and New Amsterdam was changed (in honor of the duke of York) into New York. There are still Dutch influences in New York, like the Holland tunnel, Brooklyn + Brooklyn bridge which derived from the Dutch city Breukelen etc.

@ locutus: so the americans sighned the delaration of independence 7 years BEFORE achieving independence? thats a tad premature, i mean seriously, how cocky were they.

on a slightly similar note, has anyone seen the film the patriot? its AWFUL i mean really AWFUL. No wonder the british lost america, they took it in TURNS to shoot their rifles...i mean COMEON! its like final fantasy, and that was crap as well. a general should have had the idea "if theyre in range, take em out".

still, were counting down the days till the second wave, weve just been biding our time, the counterattack is coming any day now

@arcon

those were napoleonitic infantry tactics they were used all over the world

*EDIT* and yes the declaration was signed before "the brits bugged out"
It's simple actually. You can call a Declaration of Independance even in your home town. if the rest of brittain and her goverment will accept and recognize
the Declaration is another story. they will more likely be rolling on the floor laughing until they will put you away in a straightjacket. (so I don't think there will be much hope granted for "arcontown" )
