possibility of an extended leave of absence..

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

power = work/time
therefore, knowledge= work/money
therefore, money = work/knowledge
therefore, money is inversely proportional to knowledge.

@StarShock: Ditto.

If it wasn't for the inky blackness of the night you wouldn't appreciate the brilliance of the stars... or the little Liberty Rogue ship exploding nicely alongside you.

I like the Discworld best... And I have 12 books of it ( different, of course ). And I've read them all... Great stuff, you should try it.

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

I love Terry Prachett's stuff, espesially the ones about the city watch

Edit : that reminds me, has any body read "Only you can save mankind" ?
the game described in that book alwayes made me think of Wing commander 1 even the copy protection was similar

@Chetnick and Starshock... Yes, Terry Pratchett rules. I own all his Discworld books now. And I have to agree that aside form "Mort" the city watch books are the best. Didn't think much of Nightwatch though.
David Gemmell is also a very good author.

i read the new HP book in two days, mainly because i had to stay in bed on saturday with a bad back

"Make it so Number One"
Captain Picard 'Star Trek the Next Generation'

I am a little disappointed with 5. Too much crappy teen angst stuff. If HP had died i'm not really sure i would have had any sympathy for him. I am also concerned it has been written as a film and not a book. I'll not say any more incase i spoil anything.

@All the tossers who have been posting HP spoilers :
You are a bunch of maggots. I had read the book before i read two massive spoliers - one in the middle of a post and one in a topic called 'FREELANCER KEY - THIS IS IT' - in this one it was the idiots first post. Or possibly someone else under an assumed user name... I dont care if you think harry potter is crap or a kids book or whatever you have no right to ruin peoples enjoyment of this book on a computer game website, especially when you have hidden it in a FL related post. I dont go around telling you whats gonna happen in next weeks 'Earmuff Knitting For Loner Outcasts' so i dont expect to have the things i read ruined by you.

Please amplify the bad language in that by a factor of a hundred to simulate what i would actually like to say.

@EB : I appreciate the fact that even tho you think potter is rubbish you have locked the threads i mentioned Could you possibly delete them tho, i only looked at the FREELANCER KEY one to see why it was locked and it has noting of any value at all in it.

ok. it was rubbish. now its up to the mods to decide the fate of this thread.

1st harry potter lasted half a page before i gave it to my parrot to eat. however im still reading war and peace

Post Fri Jun 27, 2003 11:39 am

I'm not into this series, but I think it's good for the kids. It got them back to reading.

Post Fri Jun 27, 2003 11:42 pm

As said before Harry Potter is not exactly my cup off tea but... I do have to say I love the movies

and I agree to redeye just because you don't like the book you don't have to go spoil everyone else his/her fun (personally I love spoilers but for myself; I like to know as much as possible about the things but I would keep them in a strict private conversation and only tell what I know if a person wants to know)

And I have to say that FF is right. It brought multiple generations back to reading
because it's written as a fantasy; I mean, who didn't dream of becoming a powerfull magician when he was young

I didn't... I always wished to be able to say the right words in the right place in the right time... Obviously, my wish didn't come true...
