punk - good or a nother capitallist music cash in??

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

punk - good or a nother capitallist music cash in??

have you noticed that where seeing bands are trying to cash in the idea of punk.

like busted (evil 3 people, shot at dawn)
avril lavigne
good charlotte (music's good, but the way they are promoting it is bad)

and so on.....

band;s like nofx actually hate people who cash in ideas, which are against these ideas (like the song the seperation of church and skate) where they moan about kids going to punk rocks shows and getting there ass kicked, then sueing the band. and how people start combining punk with pop songs (cough busted cough). Some pop punk is good, like green day.....

blaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

All music (well 99%) is capitalistic. Street artists singing with a guitar is capitalistic. I like to see a musician who would reject money (charity concerts don't count). Punk, IMO is crap. But it's someone's job and it brings food (or diamonds ) on the table and some people obviously like it.

There is really no bad or good music or capitalistic or communist music. There are just music you like and music you don't like. You reward the musicians you like with monetary means, and not do that with the ones you don't like. As simple as that. I fail to see the benefit of discussing whether the music industry is capitalistic or not. It is, just like everything else.

The biggest problem with today's music is that it's so commercially. Whre are the "real" artists? Those who didn't get their fame by winning a tv-program, or 5 guys who were chosen to be a band. I want real artists, self-made ones like U2.

You get my point

Busted.. Ugh I hate them, The only think I like about Avril Lavinge is that she's hot.

I dont like punk, i dont like pop-punk or whatever, and I dont like Avril Lavigne, trying to pass yourself off as "The Anti-Britney" would have worked if it werent so damn cheesy. And I agree, wheres more artists with actual experience, rather than a overnight rise to stardom.

Avril is just as commercial as Britney. She says she isn't, but she's just another formula made by the record companies.

avril is so manufactured its untrue.

punk music today ISNT. its a buzword marketing people stuck on the manufactured guitar based bands that are being churned out an album apiece. i'll stick with my dj music thankyouverrymuch alot more original ('cept for dance music)

all bow before Radiohead!

You're referring to the Sex Pistols, there's a famous story of them doing a short reunion gig once in the USA, the fans paid a lot of money to see them, they Johnny Rotten came on and said "do you ever fell like you've been ripped off" then left the stage!!!
