quick review on C&C generals.. just to get it off my bac

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

quick review on C&C generals.. just to get it off my bac

i think ra2 is still better. much more fast paced. and the buildings are actually visible and unlike generals, they don't clutter it up so tightly. but i like the fact that in generals they made it so that you could see how many soliders fit into a building. but i hoped they'd keep the deploying mode that the Gi's had. and i don't like their supploy dock thing. its just pointless. i like the minerals and ores better. i don't like the game engine at ALL. they used 'sage'? wtf.. maybe i don't know that much but i can see that their interface is the same as the really old starcraft and age of empires series. i'd rather if they stuck with their unique interface with the menu at the side. but i'll get used to it i guess. and the soldiers? they are worse than stick figures!! i have my graphics on 'high' and the tanks move waay too slowly and the AI brain just rots. i tell them to move forward towards the enemy and the tanks just have to sit there nd take pot shots while letting the enemy tanks pick them off one by one with the other tanks sitting behind them just getting crushed. all in all, the unit movements are just waaay too slow. and the gattling tanks? wtf.. poof.....................poof...........poof......poof.....poof.....poof.....poof i could reload and fire a sniper rifle faster than the so-called gattling barrels. and wtf.. aren't hte infantry supposed to carry sub-machine guns? they are firing slower than the guys with sucky rifles back in WW 1 !! and where is that darned storyline? there is no storyline in the footing campaign! and wtf.. only 3 sides? their predecessor had like 10 countries and 3 sides! and wtf.. floating machine guns? get real. i like the way that they made the planes take off tho. that was cool. i made them take off and land again and again.

maybe its cuz i haven't seen all of the game yet. but IMO, the game pace is waay too slow. is there any way to speed it up? i hate the tracer-like things that you can see when the infantry fire their incredibly slow guns. its a line!! a white line from the drawing tools from microsoft word! you can see where it cuts and goes down a pixel! that just so sucks. its like standing there and firing a bullet and trying to reload before the enemy does. and i thought CnC series would never put in any upgrades concerning weaponary and other stuff except promotion. but they put it in! like microsoft and blizzard and other slow paced games do (except starcraft and maybe others i haven't heard of)

did i mention the game was really slow paced? the infantry are worse than sitck men? i hope i did. the tanks are waaay too slow as well. i like the building animation tho, but it'd be better if the dozers actually did some work rather than sit there and watch the building come to life.

thats about it. feel free to scorch me cuz i have my fire shield with me. in front of me actually.

I agree, Ra2 is still better, gerneals isnt very good, and Where the hell do those supply crates come from? They're just there in the middle of the battle field. Harvesting natural resources makes much more sense.

glad to hear it..

Where the hell do those supply crates come from?

lol! couldn't agree more.

but to other fans of generals, i just did a bit of tweaking.. and fine. the gattling units and buildings go like this;
poof............poof..........poof.......poof....poof...poof...poof..poof.poof.poof.
and yup.. for the full experience, i went all out on a skirmish against 4 brutals, 3 hards, and on my side was me and 1 hard, 1 brutal. i got slammed with a nuke, 2 artillery strikes with 24 shells each, and a EMP bomb like 30 mins in. and my allies didn't get a scratch. btw.. WHY THE HELL ARE THERE NO NAVAL UNITS??

ps.. i still got my flame shield.

most game's (FL aswell) have the ai focus on the player because he is the most dangerous off all they say, but its just 100 times easyer to let the ai focus on the player.

I HATE Generals, the worst spent 50 bucks of my life, I cant stand it, only ONE thing keeps me from tossing it out, its the GLA (were discussing game sides here, in any case i do expect to hear Comont you f***ing terrorist!). Anyway, they have some of the best units in my opinion, Jarmen Kell, their hero, can take down ANY single vehicle every 20 seconds and then you can get your soldiers to get in and its yours, he has constant invisibility, kills infantry one-shot, and can jump into buildings. Also some of their units have a nice twist, such as the Technicals being able to pickup weapons from destroyed vehicles and use them. The rocket buggies make me forget about the games slow pace. Besides, the US is wayyyyyyyy overpowered, like their basic vehicle, the humvee, stick 3 rocket troopers and 2 pathfinders into each of 4 humvees, and you officially OWN the map, once you deploy the Battle drones, infantry stand no chance and they repair the humvees too, and thats just one strategy, as i said, overpowered.

The Generals are a typical Westwood C&C game... Nothing more, nothing less.

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

Westwood didnt make Generals.

I never said that Westwood made the Generals. What I meant was that it is like a typical Westwood C&C game. Except for the dozers and the expirience gathering, and the fact that there are 3 factions...

Westwood did make Generals, but Westwood is now known as EA PAcific. In any case its FAR from a good game, but lately I have been playing Rise Of Nations and its definetly the coolest I have played since Empire Earth.
