beyond what we can comphrehend..

what exists beyond our comphrehension?
by that i mean, what is beyond the universe as we know it?
when i was younger (7 or so) i used to pass the time thinking what would be beyond space.
after the black stuff, i thought that there'd be a white space.. i also imagined that the entire universe was thig globe thing in a house in the white universe and a kid is prodding the specs.. then if the universe was the size of a globe, we'd be smaller - literally in size, compared to the electrons.. whole galaxies would be a size of a proton.. and list goes on..
i know you guys might be thinking .. (how are we supposed to know anything beyond comprehension?) well. just wandering ..

Ever watched the intro of the movie Contact ? The shot begins on Earth and then slowly goes into reverse, past the Moon, Mars, Jupiter etc. then out of our Solar System, then out of some more systems and goes on and on and on ! That ´ride´through a part of the universe really makes your head spin about how big the universe must be

I truly suggest that the ones who never saw that shot go see it if possible, it´s really cool.

I saw a book once where every page had a picture that was a square. The first page the square was 10^-12 m wide (or some other really small increment) and when you turned the page it got wider by a factor of ten. It was pretty cool because the first page had quarks and stuff flying around, and the last page had the whole known universe in it. They would skip a page here and there like when you went from the square that the solar system could fit in to the square that the sun and nearby stars could fit in.
It's amazing that as small as human beings are compared to the universe we're only in the middle of the scale of the universe.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

hmm...what lies beyond our universe? I would imagine another universe. Either that or simply nothing. As in no space, no time, no energy...nothing. I think I'm leaning more towards the other universe idea, if only because it would be kinda sad if our universe were the only one out there. Cheers.

It's very hard to tell how big the universe truly is, because the universe is exanding since the universe began, which is (according to scientists) from right after the big bang. The universe probably has never stopped expanding, so you can't even imagine how big it must be and therefore they say it's beyond comprehension. I read Stephen Hawkins' Universe and I must say it was highly interesting to see what we (humans) have learned about the universe so far. The book talks about many aspects and it also explains the role that influential people from history had on todays knowledge, like Einstein, Newton, Galileo etc.

when a new god is called forth to the earth it starts with the scene when you are born in the birthplace of the gods. then the deity goes into a black bulb and voila we see our universe and our solar system and then the planet earth

but if you ask me the universe is not ment for us to comprehend

IMDWASO (In My Drunk Wondering about Sh** Opinion) there is no physical limit to the "universe" proper, as in the void which stars, planets, galaxies etc exist in. The edge, beyond which is no matter (because it hasn't expanded there yet) probably doesn't exist. If you want to get into the heavy stuff, a universe could just be a physical structure in space, like a galaxy, but much bigger. Maybe there are other "universes" though we might have to change the name

I take thought trips like this all the time, because everything I do is boring.
