"Foreign" music discussion

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

"Foreign" music discussion

I mean, non-English music. Do you listen to any? Indian pop, Chinese, Latin, or your local (if you're non-US/UK/Australia etc resident) bred music?

I listen to Latin (Spanish Santana and Shakira albums) and Japanese (L'Arc en Ciel, Judy and Mary, and Shonen Knife).

Share your opinions.

Local (Serbian) rock band the "Riblja Corba" (fish soup, translated literally, very old band -- 25 years or so) and French Instrumental/Electro pop (Jean Michel Jarre)
This should be very confusing to the ones that know me personally, because I listen to the Heavy/Speed/Thrash/... Metal (Metallica, Megadeth, ProPain, Korn, Nightwish, Cannibal Corpse , and many more...)

Nice taste, Cpbuja - close to mine
I like a Bulgarian band called Korozy - they combine sympho-black with folk music. Of local, Lithuanian bands, i listen to XESS, Anapilis, Mandragora, Nahash (none of you have ever heard of them, I guess). Anyway, it's, respectively, techno-black, gothic, black-death, and black metal.
Russian Boney Nem is interesting too - the make funny metalized covers of old pop songs.
there are more foreign bands, but most of them sing in English. Yes, I forgot Austrian Lacrimosa.
darn, how could I have forgotten to mention Rammstein!
I don't have a drinking problem. I drink. I get drunk. I fall down. No problem.

I'm half South African and i've grown up listening to Savuka and Juluka and a bit of Johnny Clegg(mostly humour), whenever you see a movie about southern africa there's often one of their songs thrown in. They sing in a mixture of English, Zulu and Afrikaans. I highly recommend the following songs Dela, Asimbonanga, Great Heart, and Scatterlings Of Africa

wow, another south african, you should get on IRC there are lots of us in there

I've been listening to some german stuff, Rammstien and others

also I'm a big fan of Seether who are a south african band, english though (they have a song on the Dare Devil movie sound track)

one of Lady smith Black Mambasa used to live 2 houses up the road from my house, but I've never really liked there music

oh, and german and italian opera

Same as Cpbuja, Riblja Corba. Mostly rock and Heavy Metal (Rob Zombie).

I'd have to go with various Japanese artists. Oh alright, J-pop artists. Current favs are Ayumi Hamasaki or Hikaru Utada. However, the remixes of either of them are by far the best versions of their songs. Cheers.

Agreed, Rammstein is very good. So is Joe Satriani and Gary Moore (especially the older songs). Messugah...No Comment (Swedish, I think, grind-core metal)
Farin Urlaub isn't so bad...(German punk/rock or punk/metal)
@leonhart: What about Zabranjeno Pusenje?

Not that much to tell you the truth, there was to much hell that I went through (1990-1995;1999-2000) so that I was not interested in music too much (keeping my head on shoulders was more of my interest).

Yeah, I see what you mean... Also that's the reason why i have my sig the way it is. "Zabranjeno Pusenje" tried to make fun of the differences that caused the conflict, so you could always understand their songs in two ways.

my preferences go to enya (beautifull celtic/gaelic music) old civil war music(yankee and rebel) irish folk (dubliners and violin/fiddle) scottish folk (mostly bagpipes) and classic, country and of course rock (Rammstein, Jimi Hendricks and other old rock)

that's about it

Classical. I've been playing solo violin for years. In fact, I'm going to see Wolfgang Sawallisch's last performance tonight. He's conducting the Philadelphia orchestra in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 tonight, and then he's retiring
