Magnets

heating up a magnet renders the magnets capability useless but how do you charge 'em

Charge what? The magnets?
If the magnet is a permanent(or semi-permanent) iron/steel/whatever, just run some high-power/high voltage current(electric, of course) thru it for about 10 sec.
That should restore (or improve) the magnet's specs...
If it's a coil(slim copper wire wrapped tightly around an iron core--solenoid) then you'll need a constant flow of el. current for it to work on full power, when you turn the switch off, it will continue to be a magnet, but a weak one...

You can't...

A permanant magnet is not rechargable...at least that I know of....

It's not completely "destroyable" either... Unless you drastically changed it.(chemicals like acid(s) -- HCl, H2SO4, HNO3... or EXTREME heat -- searing, almost melted, tuned into metal oxide other than Fe3O4)

You take a piece of iron and run electric current thru it. Done.
NOTE: The bigger the piece, the stronger the current requred to make a good magnet... About 2A/220V (Ampers/Volts) for a 10x10x10 cm cube (watch your fuses...)

the US used huge magnets to make plutonium i think... nvm
magnets.. as far as i know.. are made by heating metals (magnetic ones) to extreme temps nearing boiling points.. and you do somehting to them to re-arrange their structure so the elctrons pass differently.. or something.. and makes it magnetic.
to charge up a magnet? you probably have to pass electricity .. alot of it.. thru. but the charge will probably be temporay and then it'll return to its original magnetivity.. but thats probably cheezed.


This is currently registered with the FAA as a glider, and according to FAA records, it has no engine - which is technically true, if you ignore that large rocket in back.

oh right.. so thats wat you were trying to do? the magnet in your cd rom got heated too much? Ook.
