I still own legal copies of both programs...but they are on 5.25" disks at my parent's house in Florida....But I have them zipped up on CD, along with every other DOS game I have ever owned.

I knew 5.25" was gonna die, so I put them all on 3.5" disks...Then I got my first burner...NOW they are (or were) zipped up on several CDs. I was able to recover some of the CDs, but I managed to recover most of the games by other means.

I can even get most of them to run in WIndows XP...(Yay) Albeit WAY too fast...

DOS was so much more stable. I wish Windows could have been that stable.

i remember there was a chopper game that ran on a 486. or was it a 586? well, that one was really beyond me. at that time.. i was 6? i watched my cousin bro's play.. then.. there was this mahjong game thing that my entire family used to love.. but no one could get past the 5th lvl and there was a chinese chess game.. and then there was this bird's eye view fighter chinese game thingy. (i duno why, but i had my computer in the balcony)

@arognus, u remember popple? i got it on disk. i had to comb the entire island of penang b4 i got it. i still love the game tho i can't get too far on it. someday, u gotta gimme a few tips.

I haven't played that game in so long...it's not funny....That's one game I haven't been able to replace.

IMO the best dos game is Tie Fighter, its the best space sim ever...(Yes, better than freelancer :p)

Darken: Thank-you so much for reminding of a such wonderful game (no, it's not Ultima 8: Pagan...but it is in the same series). To start with I recant my previous declaration. Ultima 7: The Black Gate and the add-on Serpent Isle are leagues ahead of Wing Commander 2 and Syndicate as far as being the best DOS-based game...as far as I am concerned. Cheers.
