Sorry, Avril is a turn-off. She's the fakest punk there is, not to mention that punk is not my favorite to begin with.

My definition of a good artist is: they have to be dead, then they're good. Ok, not exactly dead dead, but at least old enough. Most moderns annoy me.

Beatles and Meatloaf are 2 of my top bands.

I tend to stay away from death/black metal bands.. some of their lyrics freak me out.

Punk, on the other hand, totally goes hand in hand with my ethics. and not the new-age punk. the old-school punk is better (all the bands are from at least the late 80s, with BR and DK from 1980.)

totally goes hand in hand with my ethics

Ethics? like what exactly.
Its been my experience that alot of people get into punk these days listening to 'modern day' punk then instantly harp on about how punk was way better in the 80's which is realy all they listen to now, yet they always seem to be going to punk clubs where they play nothing but 'modern punk'

just an observation

I like most type of metal, but my fav is TOOL and A PERFECT CIRCLE.

I don't like death meatal that much, I like the music but the singing is a total turnoff for me. It's like they gurgle on virgin blood and then start singing.

I started right off the bat with old-school bands. Granted: modern-day bands sound 'cleaner' than the crappy EPs back in the day, but whatever works. Avril, Sum41, Blink are examples of what's known as 'pop-punk.' Skateboarding, breaking up, trying to get girl A while breaking up with girls B and C while having an affair with girl D, etc. Lame. Note, please, that modern does not mean 'pop.' modern is just... modern.

As for ethics, since this board won't let me talk about politics, social issues, etc., I'll shut up.
