@Eerazor

Thanks. Now I am even more interested in DStar1.

What I like the most about FL is the ease with which one may operate the in-game controls without resort to additional hardware like a joystick.

<Edit>

Just as a side note, some of your site's members(?) aren't as friendly as you may want them to be from a public relations standpoint. Rather than push visitors away, I would think that you'd want to be welcoming to anyone interested enough in asking a question. I didn't ask any questions on your site but I saw that some who did got a rather rude bashing. If you want to push your game out by word of mouth and stuff, you probably will want to tone down on the n00b bashers at your site.

@indy: You want us to take him round back and have a word? Face it lad, if you are talking about the same thing I read he is a Rookie with 42 posts to his name, unless that is a bogey account so the moderators should come down a bit heavier but I trust it is not indicative. Anyhoo, that is what we have come to expect frum da publik forum unft.

@Eerazor: Thanks for the info, keep us posted.

will there be things to do after the storyline missions?
Will you be able to own different types of ships? I looked at the site and it looks like you just fly the one ship and you upgrade it as you go along. I really do hope the game will be less liniar then Freelancer was but by the looks of things that does not seem to be the case. But don't get me wrong it looks great.

Blessed Be to all those that still dream of the flight to the stars.

@Mr. Id....

Come to think of it I think you're right that it was a rookie.

@Eerazor....

I guess it's just typical but you might want someone to look over the Flightschool, for example and put in an ecouraging word ... like there is no such thing as a stupid question, etc.

At least not yet.

There are never stupid questions, just stupid answers, but yes, I will give Mr. Richfield a good running through.

you haven't even given me a classified...

I haven't got a great deal to say about this except that the designs look superb, very much in keeping with the Wing Commander/Starlancer/Freelancer tradition that we love so much, and the structure of the game is certainly what I've been hoping for. All the very best in your work and I look forward in anticipation to the finished product!

Spiffy...
The all important question tho...
$$$$$$$$$$
Is this a
"Going to drive you Broke "game
or a
"Yah, 25 bucks gets you in" game.
also, is it a download, or will it be for sale at game stores?
and finally, SysReqs,
Am I gonna have to upgrade to a Alien Monster to run this?

Good questions.

No this game will not break your wallet. And the system requirements can be found on the webpage. The main need is for a large graphic card that has 256Mb memory in order to play the game in all its glory.

It will run on a 1GHz system though with 512Mb RAM and a 128Mb graphic card. Just not in all its glory.

Also, a little self advertisment is in order I think

I also run a personal website, which can be found at www.ascending-pictures.com.

Why go there you ask yourself? Well, I am in the process of releasing the chapters of my first book, currently in the rewrite phase. I could use feedback from scifi addicts like yourselfs.

And any consistancies with stories running on "CURRENT" TV Series.. well, that is because this book was originally written like 10 years ago by a very young person.. me! This rewrite is actually due to something really cool that happened to me which obviously I do not want to mention until something solid comes out of it. Anyway, register yourself there (its free) and head to the article section. Currently 5 of the 22 chapters are online.

A note on the design of the book though. A book is a SEASON, a chapter is an EPISODE and an EPISODE is a closed short story. Each story is part of the Season and each season is part of the grand story.

2006 marks the release of Season 2
2007 marks the release of Season 3
2008 marks the release of Season 4
2009 marks the release of Season 5
2010 marks the release of Season 6
2011 marks the release of the final Season 7

Those dates will most likely shift though. I could write 2 seasons in one year, it all depends on the amount of time I get from work

I do not believe in such rubbish. Nostradamus says its not and besides how many times can the world end in 15 years?

1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2008. 2010, 2012 I think the world is partitioned to make these end of's possible...

this is off topic but pertains to the 2012, the mayan calander doesnt state the world ends, just a period of time, its the translation of what end of a period of time means, some theorize it means like a change, a period of change rather then destruction.... who knows we will find out december 21 2012

ON topic:
so all those ships we just seen cant be flown by players? from the talk on D*1 forums it reads like you get one ship? has this been answered? sorry if it has ill go re-read anyways
