No Joystick??

I buyed the game on Ebay, it will reach my home soon, but I discovered playing the demo, that I cannot use joystick to play!!
Is this corrected in the final version of the game?? If not, how can be useful a mouse to control a ship??
Thank's!

no you cannot use the joystick, but the mouse isnt so bad, you get used to it fast

stratos I use a joystick for a lot of games but I much prefer the mouse for freelancer.

Before long it will just be natural to you.

Flying the ships in FL with mouse-control is so easy and well done - I am sure this is part of the longtime-success and the addictiveness for this game. But it took me long hours of play (and stiff fingers ...) to learn that in battle it's better to use the free flight option (Space Bar). I would suggest that you get used to it from the beginning - but only while in combat.

Hmm, i don't like the free-flight option too much. I find it much easier to control my ship by holding down the mouse button - even in combat. I think im used to it though because i don't get stiff fingers.

If brute force doesn't solve your problem, you're not using enough.

Key word is

RELAX

I much prefer holding down the button also. Gives you more overall control of the craft and the guns I feel.

I don't like the free flight that much, only in asteroid fields, I also like the control you get by holding down the button.

You can also adjust the sensitivity of the mouse it reacts too fast.

Hmm mouse control isnt as bad as i expected

I still prefer joysticks though, it just feels more...
satisfying for me somehow, plus you can have 6 different
buttons programmed into a joystick, atm managing bots/batteries
/targetting etc with a mouse doesnt feel natural.

But im new to the game, maybee it will grow on me.

mouse control is so easy. joysticks are impossible to play with

mouse controls are better just not when you are in a pvp and run off your desktop with your mouse trying to avoid the other player lol

FL can be adapted to joystick use, though due to some limitations of the game, its impractical as of yet. I don't think its impossible, but no completely efficient way of doing it exists yet.
