The "Official" Patch is a server side patch only, and to play on-lone, no you don't need it. I'm not much os a onloine game fan, but I did test a try run, and did it with no patches.

I want to know how to save my games? I opened another user account on my PC and played a gome using a different set of mods and when I closed it and reopened my other account, all my saves were lost. Y,Y,Y,Y,Y,???? I had to start the games all over. WTF?

The old saves are still on your computer. They are in the mydocuments/mygames/freelancer folder. When you start a new game, the old saves are moved to a folder usually with the name of the mod used oor the saved games name. Open that folder, copy and paste back to the singleplayer forum, making sure the current saves and autosaves are gone. You will also need to make sure FLMM has the same mods used in the saved game are activated.

Hi!

I am new here. This site is really good! A saw so many mods here. A have recently bought FL, and i fall in love!

A haven't looked around yet, but i am going to mod the game. But first, i have some questions.

1. A have the unofficial 1.4 patch. Is it recommended to use with mods?
2. I would like to have more systems, ships and equipmet, while i play the single mod on my pc. Which mods should i install?
3. TNG mods are good? Shall i try them? I have 2.6.5.

Thanks! Good hunting for all!

If you want to use a patch I suggest you use the Freelancer QuickFix version 1.0c by Louva-Deus

It's a self installing exe file, just double click on QuickFix-v1.0c.exe after you download the file. Just remember where you downloaded it to so you can find the file.

If you have any trouble after installing the patch I suggest you delete any saved games.

Ok! Thanks! I will try it.

Ok! I got another problem.

I used the QuickFix as suggested. Fine. It runs with it. But after that i downloaded TNG 2.7.6. Everithing is fine with FLMM 1.4. Puts it in the right place, succesfully extracts and installs it. But when i try to launch the game it asks for the cd. The game is not corrupt. From then, i can only play if i deactivate the mod.

How can i make it to work properly? Before Quickfix i had the unofficial 1.4 patch from gamespot.

Help plz!

The TNG Mod most likely was made using the SDK which is basically most of the
Quickfix files.
I wouldn't use anything else with TNG.
What I suggest is start with a clean install of Freelancer - by clean I mean delete your Freelancer folder which is located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer and then install Freelancer again.
Next delete any saved games which are located in My Documents\My Games\Freelancer - both the Singleplayer and Multiplayer folders are sub folders in the Freelancer folder... delete any files in those two folders (Singleplayer and Multiplayer).

Next activate the TNG Mod without using any patches or any other Mod's other than the TNG Mod and you should be good to go...

The problem with TNG and most of the older mods is that they use the freelancer.exe that came with the original Microsoft Games version. Ouside of the USA you now can normally only buy a budget version of Freelancer, these don't have the M$ security systems as M$ are paranoid about letting other companies near their stuff. End result is that M$ gave them a legal version of the nocd exe to use, this is why your getting the "Insert Correct CD-Rom" message, the TNG exe is looking for the security features that your disk just doesn't have.

Head over to GCW and have a search, they have a large number of NoCD's for most versions of TNG.

But i lost all of my saved games. I dont want to restart the SP Campaign, so i try a mod according to this problem. I want to be fully free. If any other problem occurs, i will contact u again.

Hi again! Sorry for disturbing again, but...I don't want to mention all the problems i faced while iu was trying to use the latest Crossfire mod here.

I uninstalled everything. The game, the FLMM.

My question is: What should i do, if i want to use it? Wich FLMM is required, should i use QuickFix before using the mod, etc.

TNG276 worked properly, but i think i would try Crossfire, because it is bigger and i suggest, better.

BTW! Which mod is the most recommended? Is there one, which is the best for SP free play?

Sorry again for questioning so much, but i didn't succeed so far...

If you want to use crossfire, delete the freelancer folder completely then reinstall a clean copy of Freelancer. Delete FLMM and install the 1.3 version of FLMM. Crossfire requires a clean install. No other files needed for it beyond Freelancer, FLMM 1.3 and the crossfire mod.

See the crossfire download readme for any further details.
