Adding a new ship

Hi there,

i have the discovery mod and downloaded a few ships from ur page.
now i want to put these ships into th discovery mod.
i tried to activate the discovery mod and 1 new ship mod at once to select the new ship at a station. then i wanted to save the "new" mod and thought i have the new ship in it. but this doesnt work.
programms i have are. freelancer explorer and the mod manager.
the ships are mod manager files.
i think it cant be so difficult to add soem ships into discovery mod but i totally have no idea how to do it.
i hope some of u guys can help me with my problem

well we know how but since you are going to edit an existing mod and were are not knowing if you are allowed to it wouldnt be the best idea to post an answer

What you might want to try is read the tutorials about how to add ships in the Freelancer Tutorial section.

i would recommend NOT going on the discovery MOD server with the new ships (if you get them into the mod) itll cause a crash

hmm, but were is the problem when i change the mod only for myself?
i dont want to play on any internet servers, i only want to play with 2 of my friends via hamachi. i didnt know that this can be a problem...
i tried to learn something from the tutorial forums, but there is soooo much information that i dont need to know and i didnt know where i should start searching for a simple answere of my question.
the thing is, im not from any english speaking country and my english is not as good that i can read me trough thousand of posts here.
perhaps someone can send me a pm with a answere of my question?
or perhaps someone knows a german forum like this one and can pm me a link, i searched but didnt find any.

It's not a problem I think many people modify a mod they like so they can play it SP. I do it all the time. If you ever decide to go online you will have to rename your discover folder and activate the original one to play on line or problems as stated above will happen.

as long as you, your serving pc and the other players have the same files, this should present no real problem.
I've modified some other mods just to see what some of my own custom ships would do in them. (Granted, I tested this out only on my own pc and only in single player mode)
The biggest problem I encountered (as you will find out) that not all mods take to script additions too kindly. Simply because of unique naming conventions within the data files. The mods just don't know what to do with them at times.
