Question on ranks/levels

How can I change player levels on a MP mod? I read that I needed to change missions\ptough.ini and I made a full list and it took me forever. I tested it by putting me at 999,999,999 and i'm still level 38.

Did I do something wrong?
Do I need to do something else?

That is the microsoft ver 1.1 patch.

ok, I downloadd and installed the patch and it says it's already installed when I click the installer again. When I go into freelancer, it still shows 1.0 and now I can go up to level 40... I have the levels set all the way up to 200. Now what do I do?

the patch wont help u there ,ull need to edit an DLL file in here : DLLS\BIN

Does anybody really know how??? I checked the content.dll in the bin folder but it shows it has no string data.

well i might be wrong

the patch allow up to lvl 89 u batter check in 1 of the patch files where they changed to do it

files list :
setupenu.dll

Content.dll <---- i still think it this file ,u simply need to know with what program to edit it

Common.dll
DALib.dll
RemoteClient.dll
Server.dll

1 thing for sure i must be in 1 of those files ! this what the MS patch update and the MS patch allow a higher lvl in game ,so even if u dont see anything that mean u editing with the wrong program

Ok,

I would also like to know more about this... we added the latest content.dll from the official Microsoft 1.1 patch, plus played with the ptough.ini file to take the levels to 50... but it doesnt seem to work in MP... also using reshacker I looked in the .dll .. no help there..

I know that some mods do it, what else has to be edited?

i dont think there other files ,coz MS patch update only those and he make up to lvl 89 from 39 in MP and SP

i think the DLL need to be edited with a more profsional program ,like C++ or stuff

i still didnt got to this part on the mod i work on ,so i cant be 100% sure but that what i guess

To change your starting rank for MP...
Open: Freelancer/EXE/mpnewcharacter.fl
(You can use Notepad to edit it.)
(It's set at "0"

it dosnt look as if he want to change the starting rank ,it look like he want to change the total rank possble in the game

yes but if u set the starting rank to 89 when u uncok it will go back down

the microsoft patch is the only way to make it go to 89 tops

as i understand it he want to get to lvl higher then 89 !

what the hell starting lvl have to do with it :S

interesting .. cause i have recently been working on rankings for my mod .. but it`s not that far, not running a test server by now .. i thought the settings apply for both sp+mp (for long time not playing the game, just editing hehe)

i really had in mind tho that there was once a mod which allowed higher ranks .. and that it was the reason why flstat global rankings left out the sort function for "best ranked" players ..

anyways, i have a question .. if i include the flpatch 1.1, will it use my settings for what amount of money makes you what rank?
will the scale remain like i stated but just won`t display anything higher than rank 89? or will it disable the value i put in for money to be a rank x ..

well -if someone knows plz tell me, but i could just try at a later time ..

btw, use a hex editor on content, common.dll .. but don´t ask me what to do there in particular, i don`t know -but there are some people who know, that i`m sure of.

the patch give u to have max lvl of 89
the game have it own ranking scale ,tho i am sure it editble too

if u want anything other u gonna have to edit files for this

We added the 1.1 code to the Asylum 51 mod. From what I can tell, it totally ignores the file formerly used to set level boundaries and provides levels up to 119, which is 120 levels including level 0.

All our admins who carry max money at 999,999,999 so they can give gifts to new players show a level of 119. I think this stuff is hard coded in the 1.1 FLServer.exe
