How do I get my custom ship to be recognized by FLE?

Everything I try, I can't get my custom ship to be recognized by FLE, I'm trying to set a planet to sell it, but it won't come up on the list. Can someone make a checklist for getting a custom ship into a mod?

I haven't done this before but have you tryed to actate it and then tell it where to sell?

or you can do it the good old fashion way by editing the market_ships.ini

like for manhatten you'd do this:
[BaseGood
base = Li01_01_base
marketgood = your_ship _package, 0, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1

the only problem with selling at manhatten is that you have to get rid of one other ship:
marketgood = gf2_package, 4, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 /\ StarTracker
marketgood = lf_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 /\ Patriot
marketgood = lfr_package, 1, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 /\ Rhino

to disable one of these you have to change the numbers around:
marketgood = gf2_package, 4, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1 /\ StarTracker

then the startracker isent sold
then your is

250mb m8 used it so offten....even with your's i still only got 1% filled.....lol

what exacly does this mod do......

there's alot of files just for a ship

Yes it does crash every time it starts, I can't figure out why, FL only needs Li01 anyways, right? And I have not made any mods before besides simple skin mods for the civilian ships. Do you have an instant messaging screen name so I can talk to you? I have Trillian so I have all the main instant messaging services.

EDIT: Oh yea there are about 4 ships in there, they all use the same .MAT file (Or is it .cmp? I'm not sure which.).

Lack of files? Oh you mean the systems? Its supposed to only have one system, and have two rival factions. The maximum players on a server running this mod would have to be like, 32 or something.

rule number one:
Don't rely on FLE or any other trick tool.
Do your modding by hand. Know what you are doing. Learning to mod takes time and experimentation. Careful experimentation.

Omg, I still don't know how to even get freelancer to recognise it. Can't someone just tell me a checklist of what I'm supposed to do before my ship will work?

Megatog - have you actually flown your ship yet?

If you can fly it, and you can sell it - then its all good. After that I would wonder if your using FL:E on the right mod folder.
However, since I have never set anything to sell in that tool - I do not know if it would work at all...........

Its simple enough to find out how to make it sell on the base you want by hand - and like Glock says, learning to mod by hand is the only way to actually get results in all honesty. Tools is fine to use, but what happens when something goes wrong? You have to find the fix.

There is no simple quick fix to modding, you have to learn what to do.
To find out how to sell ships on bases, please refer to the sticky's up above - its linked to newbie questions halfway down, and it should tell you what your after. Sure - we could post it down here for you, but that would mean we spend our time so that you don't have to..........which just doesn't sound right to me

Oh - checklist as well:

You have your CMP and MAT file for ship
Entry in shiparch.ini
Entry in goods.ini
Package in goods.ini
set to sell in market_ships.ini

Done and dusted.

ok start a new mod and don't take any thing off. put your ships in the right places and MANULY put the entrey's in.

as a good practice it's a good idea to learn the scripting of FLMM it helps to learn the ropes, and look at some of the mods that use them, WTS is a good start but can be over whelmd by the amout.
