Status:
I'm in the middle of rewriting the Gemini Sector from scratch.
(Currently taking a few weeks off to unwind.)

Still having problems with textures causing DirectX errors.
Seems to be in my computer, but I can't figure out what's causing it.

Take all the time you need Warzog. You are already spending months and months on this project and I can only commend you on your hard work.. as can we all I'm sure.

Kudos!

Keep it up and i'm sure you will amaze us once it's complete

I just want to say that your mod ROCKS! From the ships to the music. You have done an awesome job. So awesome that I actually went and bought a copy of Freelancer (even though I'm still bitter about the lack of controller support).

No bug encounters so far, just a nice flashback to the good ole 486 days. Keep up the excellent work cause you made a die hard fan here.

When I downloaded the file, and double clicked the FLMOD file it said "the central directory was not found in the archive (or were to trying to open not the last disk of a multi-drive archive" what's going on?

Wazoo_22:
That's a new one on me!
I've never heard of it before.
Sounds like a Unix type of error.
Like you're trying to run something saved on one disk, to another, non-existant disk.

I saw that error once, but it was on the corrupted version of Chips' Evolutions mod. I suggest a redownload. If that doesn't work, maybe the TLR file of Privateer is corrupted.

Yep - that is typical of a bad download, or an incomplete download. This especially happens when using download accelerators, or other software for the download. Turn those off, and try again!!

@SS - so this is where you are, i was a wondering nice to see your still here, even if it is tucked away from the main stage

Chips:
Nope, he's been gone for a while.

Sir Specter!?!!
Where you been hiding?
I'd thought we'd lost you.

Good evening,

first I've to say, that the creators of this mod have done an awesome job - ok, I expect, that they have done a good because I'm not able to play mod. When I press the "New Game"-Button, the game crashes to desktop - every time. Is there a solution for this problem yet? Thanks ....

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, unfortunately I'm out of training in speaking english.

Edit: Hooray, I've fixed on my own with the inofficial patch posted on page one of this thread. Ok, the mod looks great on the first look ... further impressions will follow.

AH - prize fighter - in future its wise to reinstall the game before activating a new mod - or trying one out. It ensures clean files with no corruptions. You can, and probabily should, install the SDK too.

Its VERY advisable to delete save games from the saves game folder:
my documents/my games/freelancer/accts/

Delete all those, as inconsitencies between the save games (especialyl autosave) and current files = crash on startup!

Post Sun Aug 29, 2004 1:59 pm

I've reinstalled two times - once as a clean installation and the second time as described on page one of this thread. The second installation works fine now.

Thanks for the hints - I'm sure, they will help me with certain, upcoming problems

Warzog are you planning to release a patch to fix up the bugs of the original download or a whole new file for all the stuff you have found and repaired?

When do you expect to update the already great amount of work you have already been through with this most wonderful and enjoyable experience.

I must commend you my friend for the never say die attitude you have exhibited during these find and fix that goes with any new release of a mod.

Keep up the good work looking forward to your next update.

Hey, chips. regarding saved games, awile ago I downloaaded the Andromeda Ascendant MOD, and it worked great. but when I deactivated it, the game crashed. Let's say my saved games are one person and the Game is another. the Saved files say "trent has the Andromeda Ascendant" but the game says, "There's no such thing as the Andromeda Ascendant."
but, months later, after Un-installing the mod because it wouldn't deactivate, and re-installing it, yadda yadda yaddda, It won't work.
