IQ=200+??

Hi there FL fans, this been my first visit to the site....please be gentle.
Not been a fan of joy-sticks i'm glad this game does not support them, it will be the one thing that will probabley make me go and splash out all that cash!!! The thing i would like to know is: I played Edge of chaos for about 20 minutes until i got to the incredebly hard assault course where you had to get through hoops and chase little ships....now i did(honestly)try and get passed it because the game looked and felt good but after a whole day of getting no-where(the only time i've ever been nearly tempted to go out and buy a joy-stick)i gave up, and scrached space-sims off my list of games that would entertain me!!! Now i've found that FL is aimed at the average gamer theres a glimmer of hope...So will there be one of these tutorial/introduction levels that you have to pass, before you can start the actual game!??

I hope you don't think this is a dumb question, I'm not very good with tests or exams!?

I won't buy this game if the manual is thinner than Falcon 4.0's *wink-wink*.

Games come with manuals? Who would've thought...
I usually rip open the box, break the plastic jewel case, load the game, and then die a lot...

Welcome to TLR Miss-Fire ! Always nice to see more FL fans (or potential fans ).

My guess is that there will be some kind of 'Training' feature in FL to get you acquainted with FL's controls, but that it will not be necessary to play the single player part (or multi-player for that matter).

Like I said, I'm only guessing, so one of the Beta testers can give you a clear answer on this matter (although I'm not sure they are allowed to give such information).

The first mission you accept acts as a tutorial, teaching you how to use things and what to do in certain situations. Really cool, better than a raw tutorial IMO.

A truly good game doesn't need a manual.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

Very true, but manuals are like male nipples. They don't really do anything, but I'm glad to have them

Well, they can be sucked (male nipples I'm talking about)

Have you ever tried to play a simulator without a manual? What about an RPG?
When you're bored, you can always re-read a manual, if it's well written...

A lot of hard core flight sims have manuals, like Falcon 4 had a huge manual but it is a great game. With the fan made patches and stuff, anyway. BTW DATD why does your posts always say Edited by Bargib? I don't think he's around.

I'm starting to suspect it's his sig.

Post Tue Jan 28, 2003 8:57 pm

Quite possibly could be, compare the dates on them and the post dates...

Umm, it looks like the edit happened before the post, lol! Look at the time.
