Plot questions

I was wondering these things. Others might.

1. Are Trent and JUni romantically involved. Or was Juni just a hot girl to serve as mission commander?
2. What does Juni's uniform signify? Nobody else has it
3. Did the nomads destroy FP7 or was it the order like peopel thought?

EDIT: Heym i just saw a LSF female in a bar and she had Juni's uniform. You dont see many LSFs because they dont own bases, ships, or anything else. there the only faction without bases.

1. Some inuendo's between them at the end of the story suggest she might be interested in him. Other than that, I could not dicern any romantic involvement between them. If I were Trent, I probably would have fed her to the nomads for "complaining" at me several times. (Then again, the nature of the missions were very urgent and high pressure)

2. Juni is LSF. (Liberty Security Force) She seems to be the only female "visible" in plain view. Her particular uniform could be unique to the ladies of the LSF.

3. Yes, the nomads destroyed FP7. They decloaked near the station looking for the Mapping Artifact...then launched nomad torpedos at the station.
The intro movie at the begining of the story shows them clearly doing this.

THe main reason I was unsure:
People thought that FP& was blown up by teh order. THe order has cloaks. They mighit also have advanced weapons, (although on the other hadn you would expect Sabres and Kraken 2's, lol.

also does anybody know what was with Tobias?

Post Sat Oct 06, 2007 10:23 am

The way I got it, the order had little to do with FP7. Lonnigan just happened to be an Order personell who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the dude with the scar was a pun on a whole lot of movies.

And if you take the time at the beginning of the story, there is a whole slew of rumours which could be true.

What do you mean about Tobias? If you read the messages and talked to people in the bars, you'd have heard that Trent's parents were killed in an accident. (Never says what happened. Maybe it was little Trent playing with his chemistry set!) After that, Tobias raised Trent as sort of a stepfather.

Trent also was involved with a woman on Leeds, a university student. But he went off into space to get away from her, which is how he met Lonigan and got involved in the whole story line.

Actually, Lonnagan was not a member of the order. Just a business man with whom Trent was doing business.

Trent's a crybaby. I mean, c'mon, he can easily take out entire armies single handedly, but if you check his log, entries like "barely made it", "almost got me" and "was too damn close" are all over the place.

Now, I ask you, which mentally stable young female would out of her free will start a relationship with such a fella?

Well if the one controlling his Character is a bad pilot then those saying are very true. In-fact if you have played my bigdaddy storyline mod (use the v1.25 mod it has most of the bugs fixed) you might have the same reaction as well.

Trent is no "crybaby" by a long shot.
On the contrary, you don't hear Trent whine in any of his comms.

One slightly irritating thing about the story line is when after breezing through an easy mission early in the game, Juni or King say something like "That was close".

Post Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:45 am

Yep "That was close" is used a lot.

I have often wondered what would have been said if the rating for FL was Mature

I am not Edison Trent, I'm merely the kind force that guides him. If it weren't for me, he'd surely die at Manhattan after leaving the planet for the first time, which in turn makes it possible for the Nomads to invade Sirius. So I'm not just helping Trent not getting killed, I'm helping the rest of mankind, too. If that doesn't qualify for the status of godship, then what does?

If the game would have been 'M', Juni and Trent might have... no, wait! Trent would have needed guidance for that, too, writing something like "that was close" in his log!

Yeah, a lot of "figurative" and explicative comments were intentionally
left out.
Other games with "mature" (M) ratings have a lot of that stuff.
I think it would have added flavor to Freelancer.

Has anyone figured out how to make recording of there voice and then replace a character in FL voice sounds? If so, you could remake everything they say and add in some "M" words.

I'd personally like to see that too.
Imagine you get sent to a penal system and you go see the bartender..
they tell you in a rather flamboyant voice:

"Man, you got sent here for cheating?
I wouldn't want to be you...
you're screwed until you finish restitution in this place"

But, I did something like this by adding some new rumor content.
