I always thought that the way it just ends and juni walks off was rather lame

What next ?? -- No follow thru -- no more order -- she just walks off with some suit ?? -- also orillion does say something about being in touch or some such

How about a set up of bases for the order -- to guard the passes so to speak

How about trying to integrate the outcasts and he corsairs ??

Also what about a retro storyline -- go back and examine the rhineland gmg war ??

Or how about GMG discovers nomad tech in forgotten sigma systems and sets itself up as the next great house ??

Or even better GMG is infiltrated by the nomads and get the gang back together to save the universe from the infested gas miners

Ayr

hey. mr. ed goodgoodgood!! I like that last one!!
Vonclausen could return with the news sometime in the campaign, about gmg being infested(I never liked those guys, shooting while I plundered those rheinland wrecks...)

Also, if people are windering "what's this about von clausen?"
do us all a favor and read the end game diary, please.

The key for those is if anyone is capable of making those missions. So if anyone has Accushot's msn or the like, and could ask him if he could help, that would be great...

I think BP is already on that runtman.

to create new missions isnt that hard... it just takes alot of time since you need create tons of triggers... but thats nothing complicated

what i consider more challenging is to create a story around it... letting the characters interact... the neccessary of new voice samples

isn't that what the Crossfire modders managed to do ?

OP that is what I am talking about when I say new mission. You go and meet Juni or King Etc. and they talk to you and ask if you want in you click yes and they tell you about it. A real full mission if that cannot be done then it would be a half-baked IMO. You make a new mission for the storyline it should be complete not just pop ups saying go here do this but interaction with the Characters that partake in the mission. Other wise it is just cheap IMO.

Now other then a new missions what you would like to have in the vanilla 13 that is not in the game.

Remember the title is New Storyline Mod. It is not New Storyline Missions just to clarify this before we go on.

Heres a Thought about missions without changing anything

After the basic storyline completes change the Orillion statement to mention a hidden order base in every major sytem -- theres alot of systems so this would take awhile not counting all new systems you would add and you can take a break or do what you want in between - this chain of bases will asign you One specific mission to make you go places and get things -- blow stuff up -- mine a very certain Ore -- aquire a piece of tech -- just drop off a cargo in orbit and when you get back -- theres a base setup or orbital rings -- rescue order people -- tractor in thier pods -- drop off meds -- yada yada yada

Each time you complete the assignment the base will allow you to pick up something related to the mission -- new ship component -- new ship -- a sample of the ore thats very valuable -- a way into a new system to explore -- and as you go along you get hints as to whats going on and where in the sirius system or beyond is next step -- save sirius from nomad mothership -- build a dom kvash or helping to build a new dom kvash device -- or just opening up new systems for good of humanity or maybe not ??

Not to overwelm this discussion I posted a long list of thoughts about commodity's and missions and systems on the Freelancer 2 idea board #'s 402 & 403 on page 21

Probably the major disappointment is that the way the story line ends. You are expecting more to come -- and it doesn't. Orillian also asks you to keep an eye on things in Liberty. Who wants to do that? Nothing happens except you get attacked by Liberty Rogues in ships you can blow to bits with one shot.

Why doesn't Orillion suggest you keep an eye on things in the border worlds and other distant systems? He might mention there are rumours that the Nomads are said to be in several other systems, giving you something to hunt for.

This wouldn't be a face to face meeting with Orillion, which would obvously be beyond the ability of most folks to create. It could be in the form of text messages sent wherever you happened to be.

Just some thoughts ...

As the Nomads are Gone at the End of the Actual Storyline, perhaps we could have a Storyline without Nomads...

isn't that what the Crossfire modders managed to do ?

modders?
there is just one who worked on CF and that was me

well i consider the expansion of the storyline very interesting since ive planned to do the same for the next version of my mod

I would like the storyline to be completely new and kinda reversed - the game starts with Sirius sector being ruled by nomads and then humans start a war vs. nomads to make Sirius sector human property... or something like that

Long dissappeared: the Domkavash...those who created the nomads. Characters, voices, ships, inferences, references, rumors, so on and so forth...
A treasure chest of items left in the files of Freelancer that were cut short of being implemented. I can only imagine what DA really had in mind.
Shoot....Wing Commander...they made a MOVIE out of that game and Microsoft wasn't involved in THAT part...but I'll bet they got some royalties out of it.

After the story line was completed, Alaska, Tohoku, and the nomad Omicrons were resealed. Dang shame we had to go to such lengths to access them again.
Stupid Multiplayer original sealed off all the opened gates and holes from the original story line and we had to crank our shafts to reopen those.

Orillion leaves us hanging, "keeping an eye on things" and I think he even mentioned that they'd be in touch.
Dexter Hovis must have surely died some time after that since he seemed kind of reckless. (some stray asteroid..or Q's men fixed his wagon for ratting out Quintane to Trent.. That artifact kept Q from sending Trent out the airlock)

Blasted Microsoft pulled the plug on DA before they could really develope the game to its full potential. (Now that's piracy if you ask me)

I think if Microsoft hadn't gotten involved with it, DA would have put out a fully developed game. Now it's up to us.

Is there a way to add an Order base with missions close to Liberty after the end of the storyline?Maybe rebuild Benford Station as a memorial?Have a few Nomad modded Valkeries or Nomad ships pop out of the anomoly. That would make Orillion's request seem more realistic.

Also harder and higher paying missions at the House bases and planets would be great. Those simple 2 to 3 thousand credit missions at Manhatten were a real let down after the story ended.

As for rebalance of weapons almost every time I've seen that one attempted it ends up with silly weak guns.Rebalance of sheilds seems to work much better. The only rebalance that worked okay was all guns shot at the same projectile speed.Only differences were range, rate of fire and damage. That worked pretty well.

More ships are always apprecitated.I lke the APS ships, especially the Hornet. It always looked like it belonged to Britonia in my opinion. Also the ships from Starlancer were always nice looking.I forget who made those ships playable in Freelancer.

Increased player loot from defeated NPC's would be nice.Upgradeable Armor,Scanners ect. are always fun too.Making mining profitable would be a plus.Either by making all asteriods drop stuff,or keep the drop rate the same but increase the amount dropped.

Thanks for all the work you've done before.I've played many of your mods and find them really enjoyable.
